Located on Siwei Road in Taitung, Chen's Scallion Pancake and Black Roll is a typical roadside snack stall, selling straightforward items: black rolls, rice blood cakes, corn, and other Taiwanese-style kanto dishes. There are no flashy decorations, just a stall under an awning, where customers come and go, mostly stopping by for a quick bite to fill their stomachs.

This time, I ordered corn, black rolls, and rice blood cakes. The corn was surprisingly the standout item, with a full texture and sufficient moisture. It had a natural sweetness and tasted great without needing much seasoning, making it the most memorable dish of the lot.

The black rolls were somewhat ordinary, with a soft texture, indicating they had been soaking in the soup for a while. They lacked the elasticity and freshness of freshly cooked items, offering a more singular flavor. The rice blood cakes were standard, with a texture that wasn't too hard, but also nothing particularly standout—satisfying but not likely to leave a deep impression.

Overall, Chen's Scallion Pancake and Black Roll offers a very down-to-earth experience, with some items being good while others are just average. The corn performed well, but the other items were rather plain.
