❤️🔥 Guanghua Ai Yu ❤️🔥
A dessert shop located on Guanghua Road, which has been around for hundreds of years, primarily offers Ai Yu (a type of jelly made from a fruit) and tapioca balls. But today it was too cold, so my mom and I ordered peanut soup and youtiao (deep-fried dough sticks).
❣️ Unlike many other places where Ai Yu is made by soaking powdered ingredients, the Ai Yu here is genuinely "washed" out. Some people might not know this distinction; Ai Yu is hand-washed from Ai Yu seeds, and the hand-washed Ai Yu remains a whole piece and does not melt. In the summer, they display complete pieces of washed Ai Yu.
P.S. Ai Yu seeds are considered a specialty of Alishan!
❣️ Peanut Soup
The peanuts are dense, with a natural peanut aroma, and the texture is warm and smooth. The soup is also very hot, making it incredibly comforting on a cold winter day.
❣️ Youtiao
The youtiao is a little crispy, but not overly hard. It’s crispy yet soft, and it pairs perfectly with the hot drink.
Oh, by the way,
#OpenDuringSpringFestival
They are open during the Spring Festival as usual! It seems the boss plans to make a big profit!
I really wish I could work overtime during the New Year to earn some extra pay… I've been so broke lately...
