Although the name of this shop sounds like it's trying to be cute, it is located in the legendary Nanyang Street area, and it's currently the only place I dare to eat and genuinely enjoy.
The rice here is extremely soft, and the braised pork soup has a lot of broth. It features tender fatty meat that melts in your mouth, accompanied by a hint of sauce flavor. Among the various styles of braised pork rice in Taipei, this place also has quite a few supporters.
The braised cabbage has an unexpected hint of wasabi flavor in its chewiness. Adding braised bamboo shoots and tofu, both classic side dishes for traditional braised pork rice, makes it very suitable.
The interior of the shop is quite small, so you need to order outside first. During meal times, you almost always have to share tables. After eating, you have to return your utensils to the recycling cart, as the walkway is really too narrow. The division of labor between the shop and the diners is quite reasonable.
The shop only accepts cash and issues traditional invoices. I remember years ago when I frequently came to this shop, several staff members would have endless topics to chat about, creating a very warm and admirable atmosphere. The signature pork rib soup also left a good impression on me, although it's not the best I've ever had, it's still worth having a bowl when the weather is cool.
