If we talk about the latest opened stewed snack shop in Taitung City, "Lai Dian Stewed Snacks" might be one of the few places open until 4 AM. So if you wake up hungry in the middle of the night, there’s still food to eat.
What I find most special about this shop is that, besides being a stewed snack shop, the freezer is filled with drinks and beer, making it somewhat similar to hot stir-fry places, except the food is all stewed snacks.
In terms of food, I think it’s one of the few places that offer fresh vegetable ingredients. Usually, the vegetables provided in stewed snack shops can be somewhat wilting, but the vegetables here are very fresh, and they don't cook them for too long, so you can still enjoy the crisp texture of the greens. As for other ingredients like fish balls, sweet potato balls, and braised eggs, their quality is just average.
Overall, the dining space and atmosphere are quite nice, and I recommend it to those who suddenly feel hungry late at night and want to have a midnight snack.
