This time we ordered a total of four main dishes: 3 portions of today's soup for $79 each, and 1 complete set for $210.

My impression is that it's tasty, but not tasty enough to make me want to return. 🤔 It's more like: it can be chosen for special occasions when you want to gather, but only if you're looking for something slightly different from the usual.

That's about the feeling I have.

👇 I’ll share my thoughts on the dishes at the bottom, and below is an explanation about the restaurant atmosphere.

This restaurant is close to Nangang Train/Subway Station, and there are buses nearby, making transportation very convenient.
Convenience level: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

The chain of restaurants offers both Chinese and Western cuisine. This time we opted for Western, which includes pasta and steak, among others.
(OS. But the menu still featured fried rice 😂)

The entrance to the Chinese restaurant is very obvious, so much so that the establishment even placed a sign to inform you: to go to the Western restaurant, you need to walk next door; do not enter the wrong restaurant...

It's not hard to understand why they need to do this, as among the 4 of us gathered for dinner, despite countless reminders, someone still walked into the wrong place 😅.

The Western restaurant is hidden inside a bakery. From the entrance, it just looks like a bakery, and only upon entering can you discover that there are tables and chairs, and a kitchen — it's a restaurant 👩‍🍳.

However, saying this might help you imagine that with a bakery in front and a restaurant behind, the entire space actually feels cramped and not very spacious. To save corridor space, the seating felt a bit crowded, which greatly affected my dining mood 😩.
Just think about it: during the meal, I had to squeeze my bag with me; there was no place to hang my umbrella, so I had to leave it at the corner of the table; the air conditioning also didn’t feel particularly cool; the comfort of the environment really felt lacking.

I understand that space in Taipei is not cheap, but I also can’t ignore that the environment made it hard for me to enjoy the food🥲.

Personally, I think the value for money is about: 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

Italian-style Chicken with Olive in Red Wine Sauce Risotto $390 (A La Carte Price) This dish is unanimously recognized as the most successful (and the tastiest) at our gathering. Every flavor is perfectly balanced, the tomato is not overly acidic, the black olives are not too pronounced, the risotto is not too mushy and has a subtle red wine aroma (not intoxicating). The garlic slices aren’t overly sticky, yet they enhance the flavor and aroma of the chicken and the risotto! Indeed, this is my number one dish of the gathering! ☝🏻
Salmon Fried Rice $300 (a la carte price) The fried rice is topped with plenty of salmon roe and has a good amount of fish meat. The fried rice is cooked very fragrant, with each grain distinct. It's quite good 👍
Perilla Garlic Spicy Seafood Pasta $390 (a la carte price) I was a bit shocked when this dish arrived; the shocking part was… it looked a bit like a photo trap. First of all, the photo in the menu is very beautiful, but the plating when it arrived was a bit messy, which made me feel like it was a misleading photo. 😅 (This was taken immediately after the dish was served.) In terms of actual content, there was indeed a good amount of seafood, I ordered it slightly spicy, and the garlic and spiciness were definitely enough; it’s not one of those slightly spicy dishes that turns out to be practically not spicy at all, the heat builds up slowly.
Baked White Sauce Seafood Penne $420 (a la carte price) I can understand that baked dishes are a bit more expensive and take longer to prepare, but this dish is indeed quite ordinary. There is a decent amount of seafood, but it doesn't stand out in any particular way. It's not like you can taste the seafood's freshness or its chewiness and deliciousness. Overall, it feels just mediocre. Therefore, this dish is unanimously recognized as the least memorable and thought-provoking dish of this gathering.
+$210 salad I’m glad I didn’t order it 🙂 (I really dislike the texture of the dry soybeans and black beans) The salad isn’t a big bowl, it’s just a regular small salad.
Onion Soup (Today's Soup of the Day) Choosing either the $79 set meal or the $210 set meal will include the soup of the day. This soup is my second favorite. The soup is sweet with onion flavor, well-cooked, and very delicious. The bread soaked in the soup absorbs the broth and is also very tasty. However... it's not a very large bowl, just the size of a regular soup bowl. By the way, the bread is already in the soup from the start, so if you don't like this way of eating, you might want to keep that in mind. 😅
The environmental photo taken from the inside shows that the corridor is actually not wide, but the tables and chairs are also not big.
Environmental photos taken from the outside to the inside. It seems like there are still some spots further inside, but in fact, this restaurant doesn’t have many seats, so if you want to dine here, you need to make a reservation in advance.
The bakery at the front desk sells many types of bread, and the prices are somewhat higher than those of budget bread.
The cake display case in front of the store.
The appearance of the storefront It's not surprising that it has been misunderstood as just a plain bakery...
Signboard This one is placed in front of a Western-style restaurant. It’s obvious that a lot of people must have walked in the wrong way 😅
You can only see this waiting list explanation once you enter the store. This time, an experienced person is leading the way, and they made the reservation early, so there's no need to wait at all. 👌
TOP 6 Recommended Dishes on the Menu This time there is only one dish, but as long as you enjoy the meal, that's what matters!
Here is the menu of the salmon fried rice for everyone's reference: This is the menu page for the salmon fried rice. According to friends and relatives who came to eat before, the menu is regularly updated, and the items he had last time were not seen this time. It's good to regularly change the menu to try something fresh.

Placing an order is done online. The daily salad dressing and soup of the day will be specified. There is a dining time limit of 90 minutes, and an additional service charge of 10% will be added. I actually feel quite indifferent about this 10% service charge. Considering the overall prices, food, and environment, I don't feel this place offers an experience that would make me want to recommend it endlessly. That's it for today! 👋
