Japanese set meal | NT$470-NT$520

AI Spot Summary

The quality and taste of the dishes are quite outstanding, especially the Shizuoka Katsumasa pork cutlet. The side dishes such as shredded cabbage and miso soup are also very popular, providing a rich dining experience. The batter is crispy but not greasy, the pork cutlet is thick but not dry, and the green onions and daikon radish puree are generously served.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite cozy. Although it is located in a bustling food street, once you enter, you can enjoy a quiet dining environment, making it very suitable for family and friends gatherings. The interior is bright and clean, with a comfortable flow.

The staff's attitude is friendly, but there may be a need to improve the way call service is managed during busy times. Overall, the service performance is still good. During busy meal times, staff may not always be able to immediately notice customers' needs, but overall it is satisfactory.

The Shizuoka Katsumasa Japanese Pork Cutlet Nangang Global Store is located in the themed restaurant area on the basement floor of the Nangang Station Global Shopping Center. It has excellent transportation access, making it easy to reach by MRT, Taiwan Railways, or High-Speed Rail.

This time, I enjoyed the scallion and radish puree pork loin cutlet set, a small portion of the pork tenderloin cutlet set, along with an extra pork tenderloin, yams puree, and cheese cake and brown rice tea that came with the set, totaling 924 TWD.

Scallion and radish puree pork loin cutlet set:
The thick, crispy pork loin cutlet is generously topped with chopped scallions and radish puree, and garnished with a slice of fresh lemon. The batter is crispy and not greasy, the cutlet is thick but not dry, and the scallions and radish puree are liberal. The freshness of the lemon slice adds a perfect finishing touch.

Small portion of pork tenderloin cutlet set:
The tenderloin is more tender compared to the loin, with the juices well-sealed, making it easy to bite through. The batter is thin and not greasy, and the temperature is well controlled. The extra pork tenderloin ordered is just as impressive as the one in the set.

Customers can choose between white rice or barley rice for their meal, with the option to add yam puree for free. The barley rice has a chewier texture compared to white rice, and the yam puree is finely mashed, smooth, and melts in your mouth. The unique sticky texture of the yam pairs perfectly with the barley rice, so I ordered an additional serving.

Upon seating, three types of side dishes are served, which include pickled radish, Korean kimchi, and burdock strips. They are refreshing, appetizing, and help cleanse the palate, though unfortunately they are served once and cannot be refilled. The miso soup comes in pork or kelp flavors; I first chose the pork miso soup, which was hearty with a rich broth that was not overly salty, and I found the kelp miso soup just as delicious in the refill.

Shredded cabbage can also be ordered as a side, which pairs well with the restaurant’s sesame sauce or Japanese-style dressing.

Cheese cake:
The performance of the cheese cake is average, with a strong milky flavor and a solid texture.

Brown rice tea:
The aroma is well-preserved, with a delicate earthy scent in the aftertaste.

Overall, it is a consistently good chain Japanese set meal restaurant with excellent frying skills. The prices match the quality, and the interior is bright, clean, and comfortable. Although the dining time is quite busy, and staff may not notice you immediately, overall service remains satisfactory.

I recommend it to everyone!

Our basic requirements for fried pork cutlets: the fried coating does not fall off, and this restaurant meets the standard perfectly. The white rice can be replaced with wheat rice or yam paste, shredded cabbage and miso soup, all three can be refilled unlimitedly, and there are three Korean side dishes. : Pickled radish, kimchi, and shredded burdock, very worth it.

The mashed yam seems to have a little sauce and is suitable for mixing into rice. The miso soup and Korean side dishes are both a bit salty. I like to top three bowls of sesame salad dressing with shredded Korean lettuce. The iced Shizuoka brown rice tea is refreshing, the matcha ice cream is delicious, and the cone is crispy, all in line with expectations.

What are the differences in the taste of different types of pork? Ibérico loin pork chop is a high-priced ingredient from Spain. The meat emits a unique aroma when chewed. The soft texture of the meat blends well with the texture of the dough. It performs quite well. Is it worth spending an extra 210 yuan to upgrade? It all depends on the depth of your pocket. After all, the quality of domestically produced pork is quite good. The medium loin pork chop has sweet and juicy meat after biting into it, and the meat is firm. This is the style that your partner will prefer.

Because the waiter forgot to bring hot tea, he reminded us after the meal and gave us a 50% discount at checkout. Since the store’s last order is 45 minutes before closing time, don’t miss it if you want to go.

The best Japanese chain pork chop restaurant in Taiwan is this!

Environment⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Meals⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

environment
Although it is located near the food court, you can still get away from the hustle and bustle outside and feel the atmosphere of a Japanese pork chop restaurant when you walk inside. The tables are far apart from each other, so you will not be disturbed by chats at neighboring tables. It is very suitable for dining with friends and family. .

Serve
In fact, the attitude of the clerk is very good. The four stars are just because there is no service bell, so sometimes it is inconvenient for the clerk to call people when they are busy (people have a full plate and they are embarrassed to ask people to stop). There is room for improvement, so I give one less pellets.

Meals
Shizuoka Katsumasa Pork Chop is probably my favorite among all the Japanese pork chop restaurants in Taiwan. The performance of the main dishes I have ordered so far is very good, mainly pork chops (but I have a thick tongue and cannot taste the high-grade black pork). The difference from ordinary pigs, on the plus side is the experience of eating top-quality pork at the most cost-effective price?), there are many choices, and there are even limited-time meals from time to time. I believe everyone can choose one in Shizuoka. My favorite dish.
There will be three bowls of side dishes on the table as soon as you sit down, namely pickled radish, kimchi and burdock shreds. All three are very appetizing. Unfortunately, these three cannot be restocked, so eat and cherish them🥲
After ordering, a large bowl of shredded cabbage will be served. The first bowl usually contains some sesame leaves or purple cabbage, etc., and the second bowl will be all shredded cabbage, which can be paired with sesame sauce and Japanese style. Eat the sauce (tilt the Japanese sauce to 90 degrees first and then press the switch to avoid pouring out too much oil), it is fresh and delicious, and you can fool yourself into eating healthily!
Pork chops will be served with a small bowl of sesame seeds that you have to grind yourself, and then pour the pork chop dipping sauce into it, which will add a sesame aroma. Although you usually can’t eat it after a few more bites, you can grind it and smell it while waiting. , is also a kind of dining experience🤣
For rice, you can choose between wheat rice or white rice. The wheat rice will come with yam paste (yam paste is not refillable). I usually choose wheat rice which is rarely seen outside. I can also enjoy the sticky texture of yam, which is quite good. As for the miso soup, there is nothing special. I really think it tastes better than Fujiya. You can choose from pork or wild vegetable flavors, and you can change it when refilling, so you don’t have to worry too much when ordering.
I think the set meal in Shizuoka is quite cost-effective, with more than 80 yuan for drinks and desserts. The matcha ice cream in the dessert is particularly good. If you can afford it, I recommend adding it to the set meal~

special events
The 29th of every month is the meat day of Shizuoka Katsumasa Pork Chops. If you order a small tenderloin pork chop or a loin pork chop set, you can refill it for free. If you have time, you might as well choose the simplest pork chop to taste.
