“Beiqi Di Family” is located near Shandao Temple, about a 6-minute walk from Exit 6. The seating in the store is limited, but it's generally busy, so I suggest making a reservation in advance (either by phone or through their official LINE).
The meals are served as set menus, which include the main dish, three side dishes, a small dish of pickled radish slices, half a soft-boiled egg, a small piece of sweet potato, a bowl of purple rice (refillable), a bowl of miso soup (refillable), a cup of unsweetened red tea (refillable), and dessert after the meal.
We ordered the Ma Gao Green Pepper Chicken Breast Set for $287 (a 10% service charge applies).
The portion of chicken breast was quite generous. I was full after eating about two-thirds, and the seasoning suited my taste well, with the fragrance of green pepper and Ma Gao, but it wasn’t spicy. The meat was also okay, leaning towards tender, which I liked!
Today’s side dishes were cold sautéed Tofu, sweet and sour melon, and braised cabbage. Except for the winter melon, which I don’t particularly like (but I thought the sweet and sour bits added to it nicely), I found the seasoning of the other two side dishes just right, giving off a home-cooked flavor. Delicious!
The purple rice was cooked properly, with each grain separate; the soft-boiled egg was tasty, and the yolk was cooked just right; the sweet potato was also quite sweet!
The miso soup had plenty of ingredients, including tofu, kelp, and carrots. It was flavorful; if I hadn’t been so full, I would’ve definitely wanted another bowl.
For dessert, there was a small piece of honey cake, which could be finished in two or three bites. It was quite sweet but enjoyable, making for a perfect ending.
Overall, I really enjoyed the flavors of most of the dishes, and I found them quite healthy, with vegetables, meat, soup, rice, egg, drinks, and snacks—all for just over 300. I think it's very worthwhile, so I’ll consider it one of my favorite places and will likely return!
