On this drizzly night, I stepped into the "Ocean Steak" located near Qingdao University, hoping to find a little warmth in this humid weather. This time I chose the affordable beef and chicken set meal, priced at 250 yuan.

First, let’s talk about this main dish. I chose to go with mushroom sauce and yellow noodles. The sauce is the highlight of this dish. It combines the basic elements of mushrooms and black pepper, and with the addition of fried onions and scallions, the aroma is greatly enhanced, giving a rich taste experience. But in terms of meat quality, it felt like it was fried first and then reheated. This may be because the outer layer was slightly burnt and the core temperature was not enough. The steak was moderately hot on the outside, slightly pink on the inside, and thankfully not overcooked from reheating. The yellow noodles performed well, maintaining a chewy texture without being too dry or burnt.

The self-service area provides bread, drinks, soup and grass jelly. The bread and drinks are average, without many surprises. The soup is on the thicker side, and I especially like that they added diced potatoes. The sweet soup with roasted grass jelly surprised me. It is rare to have a bowl of hot sweet soup after a steak meal.

Overall, the sauce of the "Ocean Steak" was excellent, and the bisque and roasted grass jelly were also impressive. However, I personally am very concerned about the temperature at which the meat is served, and I hope it can be presented as hot as an iron plate. Although reheating is not impossible, it would be disappointing if the temperature of the meat is close to room temperature. If you don’t mind this too much, then most of this store’s performance is still good and it’s worth a try!
