The texture of the Ah-Lan bowl cake is solid and chewy, with fillings of meat, mushrooms, and egg, enhanced by the flavor of garlic soy sauce. The pig's blood soup is refreshing, with tender pig's blood that has no fishy taste, perfectly complemented by the broth. Overall, it is quite satisfying.
The restaurant has a spacious dining area, a clean environment, and features air-conditioned zones to make the dining experience more comfortable. However, parking is not very convenient, as you need to park on the street, and there can be a line on weekends.
The service staff is average, but the overall efficiency is high. The takeaway area allows for quick meal pickup. Although there are many people in line in the dining area, the takeaway options are convenient.
This time in Tainan's Madou, I specifically came to taste the quite famous "A-Lan Rice Cake." This shop has a long history and is almost a must-try representative of the local cuisine. I ordered a rice cake and a bowl of pig's blood soup.
When the rice cake was served, its white appearance was drizzled with the shop's special sauce. The texture was slightly chewy, with fillings of minced pork and mushrooms, blending salty and fragrant flavors. Especially when the sauce combined with the rice cake, it brought out a rich rice aroma, and the texture was very solid. Adding a bit of garlic paste elevated the flavors even more.
As for the pig's blood soup, the broth was refreshing, and the pig's blood was cut neatly and tender, without any fishy taste. Biting into it revealed a delicate texture, perfectly complementing the broth. Although the bowl wasn't particularly stunning, it had a familiar and comforting taste, creating a great pairing with the rice cake.
The shop was quite crowded, and the seating was not spacious. On weekends, there’s a need to queue, and parking is not convenient. However, the turnover rate is quick, and the waiting time is acceptable. Overall, if you visit Madou, this set of rice cake with pig's blood soup truly represents the local snack culture.
The parking situation here is not convenient; you might have to park on the side of the road and walk over.
I came after lunchtime, thinking there would be fewer people, but the dine-in area and takeaway area both had long lines. The dine-in area looks quite large, and there's an upstairs to sit, but there were just too many people, so I ended up choosing takeaway.
In the takeaway area, the rice pudding was already prepared, and after ordering, I didn't have to wait long; there was also chili sauce available on the side.
The rice pudding is very soft, with meat, mushrooms, and egg inside. The garlic flavor of the sauce is quite strong, but it's really good when eaten with the rice pudding.
The fish soup is on the sweeter side, which I don't particularly enjoy, but the taste is still quite good, and the fish balls are delicious.
It’s okay to eat a bowl of cake with Madou, but I haven’t eaten it either

🌟There is an auntie selling lottery tickets near the stop. You can give us your support. She is very enthusiastic.
Alan Wan Kueh (Madou Wan Kueh Lan), founded in 1964, has been open for nearly 60 years. It is located just 5 minutes away from the Madou Interchange. There is also an exclusive parking lot open from 6:00-22:00.
The interior space is very large. There are dining areas on the first, second floor and next door (air-conditioned). Bowl cakes and various side dishes (preserved egg tofu, Taiwanese pickles, blanched leeks) are all available on self-service trays. You can ask the clerk for hot soup. Not to mention take-out, customers just buy it one by one. It’s very time-saving and convenient to buy. Many people just stop and take it away.

Alan bowl cakes are yellow-brown in color, and the top layer is visible to the naked eye, with onions, pork, shrimps, mushrooms and eggs. The real ingredients are very filling and feel solid when cut with a knife. They taste very elastic and not soft. No wonder everyone praises it. It is really loved when it is topped with garlic soy sauce, which is loved by southerners. There is also original soy sauce available in the seasoning section.

Pork blood and intestine soup 💰35
The intestines are very clean and have no fishy smell, and the soup is rich and sweet.
Thoughts: I really feel that the taste is very solid and elastic, not soft and mushy, and the smell is also very good.
