Located on Zhuangjing Road near Beiyi, Jiudou Ice Products is a dessert shop specializing in variety of douhua (tofu pudding) with numerous toppings. With affordable and friendly prices, along with a rich selection of options and attentive service, it attracts many local students and office workers. Even on weekday evenings, you can see plenty of customers coming to enjoy their treats. This time, we tasted two different sugar-free doujiang (soy milk) douhua combinations, and the overall experience was satisfying—definitely a place worth revisiting!

First of all, there is the option of sugar-free soy milk! This is a thoughtful design for those who don’t have a sweet tooth or want to avoid excessive sugar intake at night. The soy milk is not too watery, smooth and non-astringent, complementing the soft and tender douhua perfectly.

The Q texture of the taro and sweet potato balls is excellent, carrying a natural aroma of taro and sweet potato, and they do not have an overly artificial taste. When mixed with the douhua and job's tears, they create a full yet non-greasy texture. The only downside was that the taro was sold out that day, which was such a pity! I’ll definitely return specifically for the taro next time!

It is worth mentioning that you can actually refill the soy milk! This is quite rare in dessert shops. When the soy milk is nearly finished, you can add more, preventing the entire dessert bowl from becoming dry when the soy milk runs out. This meticulous and flexible design greatly enhances the dining experience.

In summary, Jiudou Ice Products is a high-quality douhua specialty store (I haven't tried the ice products section). It's especially suitable for friends looking for a late-night snack without wanting something too sweet or heavy. The aroma of sugar-free soy milk blends perfectly with the delicate douhua, and the variety of toppings, combined with reasonable prices, makes for a satisfying and guilt-free treat. If you have the chance to pass by near Beiyi, it is highly recommended to give it a try.

There are quite a few options for toppings inside, but most of them are synthetic ingredients, which I don’t particularly like, though those who do love them. My colleague ordered a bunch of coconut jelly and is gobbling it up.

Sugar syrup tofu pudding: It has no toppings, and the texture is plain, coming from the boiled yellow soybeans. It's not creamy; instead, it’s quite soft, suitable for people with dental issues. It really melts in the mouth. The sugar syrup may be lost on me since I’m sick and can’t taste sweetness (?), but I can detect a faint soy milk flavor (????). Let me try it again after I recover from my illness. XD

Shaved ice 1: A pile of coconut jelly, topped with almond milk jelly... which is a bit mysterious to me.

The shaved ice is coarse, and biting into it gives a satisfying crunch, drizzled with brown sugar syrup. It looks beautiful, but it’s not what I usually eat, so I can’t provide a genuine review of the texture.

Curiously... isn’t it generally the case that unfinished items are cleaned up? They would be taken out again tomorrow, right? Instead, I see them topping up the items, huh?
