📍Datong District, Taipei City (Dadaocheng Shopping District)
The crowd continues to flow in | A rice noodle snack shop originating from small food carts 🥣🥡🥢
Walking on the streets of Dadaocheng in the scorching summer is indeed very hot 😆 We found this air-conditioned snack shop to dine in.
When we arrived just after eleven in the morning, there was no need to queue. The shop's aunties warmly welcomed us to our seats. Upon entering, we discovered that the shop had a surprising amount of seating inside! By the time we left, there was a long line.
🥘
Order items:
🥄 Rice noodles (small, $35) dry/soup:
We ordered one bowl of dry and one bowl of soup. Personally, I think the rice noodles are very light, with only the flavors of chives and crispy shallots. The soup had a bit more flavor, reminiscent of dried bonito stock.
I was a bit disappointed with the texture of the rice noodles; they didn't have the chewy bite I expected and broke apart easily, somewhat like a thicker rice vermicelli soup. I later found out that these noodles weren't made from pure rice flour but also included corn starch.
The small bowl was quite filling, packed with rice noodles, and paired with side dishes, it made for a satisfying meal!
🍢 Mixed platter ($65):
Delicious 😋 A rare sight, a mix of sliced meats 😝 paired according to the day's side dishes, with about 1-3 pieces of each type.
Although I wasn't sure what some of the ingredients were 😆 everything was prepared well and tasted great. I particularly enjoyed the sausage (maybe it was fresh sausage or a chewy type of sausage).
When served, they didn't add sauce, but the auntie reminded us that we could add our own condiments at the table, including soy sauce, chili sauce, and pepper.
🐽 Pork skin ($25):
Cooked until it has a transparent color and substantial thickness, recommended for pork skin lovers.
🫔 Fried tofu ($10):
An average level of tasty fried tofu.
🍄
Would I revisit? Yes!
The prices are very reasonable! I would come back just for the sliced meats 🫶🏻

Notes:
🔸 Cash only 💰
There is often a queue at the Guzaowei Mi Taimu store near Dihua Street during the noon hour.
🍽️Environment
Yongle Mi Taimu near Dadaocheng is also one of the famous restaurants in this area. There are many people diners on weekdays, and there is often a queue on holidays. If you want to eat inside, you need to line up in an area without air conditioning, especially next to the cooking area, it will be a bit hot😅 If you want to take out, you can just place an order and go to checkout.
The space inside is quite large, the number of tables is not too small, and the table turnover rate is fast, so you don't have to wait in line for too long. There are some ancient supplies such as coir raincoats as decorations.
If the air conditioner is sitting near the door, it will be turned on and off all the time, so you will feel that it is not cool enough after eating noodles.
🍜Meals
▪️Rice meal (soup) large bowl $45
You can choose between soupy and dry rice noodles, and the soup can be refilled indefinitely, so which one you want to order depends on your personal preference. The contents are quite simple, with rice and leeks served with soup and crispy onions. The rice noodles have a moderate elasticity, emphasizing real ingredients, and the soup is comfortable to drink. Generally, if you eat it dry, you can add hot sauce to make it more delicious, but when I eat soup, I just add it.
▪️Combined cutting plate $65
The comprehensive cut plate is a combination plate with some items on the menu cut at will. The internal organs are all processed very cleanly. With the spicy sauce and the different tastes of each part, you will feel that there is still more to enjoy.
😄
For me, I only come here occasionally when I want to eat rice noodles. If the queue is too long, I will give up decisively. I recommend it to people who like to eat rice noodles or have an occasional aftertaste. The disadvantage is that I will get hungry very quickly.
Delicious rice noodles, number one in my mind.
It was originally located opposite Yongle Market, at the intersection of Yongchang Street and Mingle Street. It has moved.
The rice noodles are not cooked too soft, they are very elastic, and the price is not expensive. Although the price has increased, it was cheaper before.
As for side dishes, I usually order a mixed side dish, so I can eat everything.
