The meal options are abundant, including beef, pork, curry rice from the buffet, miso soup, and desserts. The ingredients are fresh, especially the highly praised baked mochi for dessert, but the meat quality is average and has a high fat content. The kelp sprout tea rice is somewhat salty, and the hygiene of the ice cream scooping area needs improvement.
The dining environment is comfortable, but the staff are eager to clear away and rush guests to leave, affecting the overall atmosphere.
The service attitude was not good, especially regarding reservation arrangements, ordering guidance, and informing about the final ordering time, which left me feeling unsatisfied. The staff's attitude was impatient.
This is Chao Rou Sukiyaki, Yanji branch. We ordered the 599 yuan set, with an additional 10% service charge, and had a dining time of 120 minutes.
The ordering method is through scanning a QR code on your phone. The meat platter is quite large at first glance, which looks appealing, but in reality… the ratio of fatty meat is close to half, making it really oily, and the meat quality is nothing special—just ordinary.
There is table-side cooking service, which includes a plate of Thai spicy sour chicken and cheese beef rolls at the beginning, but that’s the only time you get it; after that, it doesn't come back, so don't expect too much.
The self-service bar has a lot of vegetables, as well as fried items, hot soup, and ice cream, which is quite rich. After the meal, they will serve table-side desserts: peanut powder mochi and grilled mochi ice cream. The mochi has a crispy grilled exterior, sweet but not overwhelming, which adds some extra points.
However, the most disappointing aspect was the service attitude—it was really poor. Even though there weren’t many tables occupied at the time, the staff rushed to clean up and urged us to leave, and their faces turned sour as the dining time approached, which was a big letdown.
Overall, if you just want an all-you-can-eat experience, you can come here, but if you have high expectations for meat quality or service, this place might not be your first choice.
First time dining at the Yanji store
⚠️ The dining experience was not great, mainly due to the service. If you care about service, you might want to pass.
We brought a baby and mentioned beforehand that we would need a crib, but we would hold the baby ourselves.
Originally reserved for 5 adults and 1 child, but a friend couldn't attend due to taking their child to the doctor, so we changed it to 4 adults and 1 child. The restaurant provided us with a table for four, but since we have a baby who might want to sleep, we needed a place for the baby to lie down. The staff repeatedly informed us that we could put things on the side, but since we only had four adults, they couldn't give us a bigger table.
🔹 Weekday dinner 599 + 10% service charge
After being seated, the person who brought us to the table left without taking our order or notifying us about ordering meat or other items. Later, a staff member came to take our order, and only when they were about to bring out the first batch of meat did the original person return to ask if we had ordered.
We mainly ordered beef and pork. At first, there were two types of table-side service: Thai sour and spicy, and cheese flavor, but the staff came and directly asked what we wanted and just started cooking at the table. We thought we hadn't ordered, but only found out from the staff that the table-side service was included!
The self-service bar had curry rice, miso soup, a refrigerator with side dishes and lettuce wraps, ice cream, a vegetable platter, sauces, and eggs.
The vegetables felt fresh, not the wilted kind that has been sitting for a long time!
An advantage was that they offered unlimited raw-grade eggs for self-service.
The ice cream scoop did not have running water and looked dirty.
The kelp tea rice was made with broth + rice + kelp + bonito flakes; it was a bit salty.
The rest was just standard sukiyaki, with sauces and water on the side for seasoning according to your taste.
The dessert included roasted peanut mochi and roasted mochi wrapped around ice cream.
The service staff did a great job! The desserts were well-reviewed! They were roasted perfectly without being too burnt!
🔺 They did not inform us of the last ordering time and suddenly came over to say they would scoop the ingredients out for us and roast the desserts, not caring if the items in our pot were cooked or not; they just scooped everything out.😀
🔅 Dining time was 120 minutes. I read reviews that said there were lockers at the entrance for storing items, but the staff did not mention anything and just took us to our seats! From reviews, other staff have provided good service, but that day, the staff really made me not want to visit again.
