Cook your own ramen! You can mix whatever ingredients you want to eat!
I saw this kind of unmanned ramen shop where you can cook your own noodles on Instagram, and I always wanted to try it. I finally came today~
This 24-hour Korean unmanned ramen shop is located near Zhongshan Station, about a 6-minute walk from Exit 2. The store is very small and inconspicuous. In fact, I passed by it many times and never noticed that it existed.
As soon as you enter the door, you can see two self-service ordering machines, followed by walls full of instant noodles on the left and right, which is quite spectacular. Going back further is the ingredients area, noodle cooking area and seating area.
There are not many seats, only about 25 people. We arrived at around 8pm on Sunday and it was almost full.
In fact, it is not cheap. The price of instant noodles is 98-118 yuan, pork slices are $59, eggs are $15, and cheese slices are also $13. So after we each chose the instant noodles flavor, we only added one serving of plum blossom pork. Just a movie😂
But the good thing is that the cabbage, bean sprouts, fish plates, onions, and chopped green onions here are free, and there is no limit. You can put as much as you want, as long as the bowl for cooking noodles can fit it. (These vegetables and meat slices are cooked together with the noodles), and kimchi is also available for free!
⚠️Attention⚠️
I think the trick to eating at this restaurant is to have enough side dishes. If you can eat it without wasting food, just fill it up! Otherwise, I really don’t know why I spent more than $150 to eat instant noodles here.
ps In fact, the process of getting ingredients and cooking noodles is not clearly marked. I felt very confused for a while. Fortunately, although it is an unmanned store, there is actually a clerk in the store who replenishes ingredients. He will enthusiastically teach everyone how to get ingredients and cook noodles. When using a self-service noodle cooker, for example, the meat slices and vegetables should be placed on the bottom layer of the bowl, and the noodles should be placed on top, otherwise the noodles will be overcooked but the ingredients will not be cooked yet.
Today I chose "Nongshim Potato Noodles" $108 + Taiwanese Plum Blossom Pork Slices (80g) $59
I quite like the soup. Although it looks quite bland, it actually tastes good enough and has a very slight spiciness. I think it’s delicious! I also added white sesame seeds and cheese powder to enhance the taste. It is recommended to add them like this~
The pork slices are frozen, there are 5 slices in total. They taste ordinary, but they feel empty without the meat slices, so I will add them next time.
Overall, I think it’s mostly an early adopter. But if you want to eat Korean instant noodles one day but are too lazy to buy vegetables and meat slices yourself, you still have the opportunity to pay a return visit to save yourself the trouble.
BTW, a small drawback of this store is that it is really hot inside. Although the air conditioner is turned on, it may be because everyone is cooking noodles in the same space, so I am sweating while eating. It is not very comfortable. I suggest the store to turn on the air conditioner. Be stronger~
