# Open During the New Year

We are open during the New Year period, with hours similar to regular days. I personally visited on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year.

On the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, I strolled through Ximen District and came across this place called "Jing Tian Wu Matcha Specialty." It seemed to be doing pretty well, so since I had just finished lunch, I decided to try a matcha latte.

At this store, the matcha latte can only be adjusted for sweetness, while the ice amount is fixed. The staff mentioned that they only have small ice cubes and cannot make adjustments. I ordered it with 30% sweetness, but when I took the first sip, I was shocked by how sweet it was; it felt sweeter than a typical half-sugar drink, almost like 70% sweetness. However, the matcha flavor itself was quite nice, without any bitterness (which might be masked by the sugar). Overall, the taste was smooth.

What was even more surprising was that after five hours in the iced cup, there was still a third of ice left at the bottom… This indicates that the actual amount of matcha and milk was really minimal, basically just a large cup of ice. This cup cost 70 NT dollars, and in terms of cost-effectiveness, it’s not great. Although the matcha flavor was decent, considering the disparity in sweetness and the proportion of ice, overall, it wasn't bad, but I didn't feel particularly inclined to return.

A very unique hand-brew shop specializing in matcha, with affordable prices. After all, apart from Japanese matcha specialty dessert shops, it’s easy to come across shops that call themselves matcha after Taiwanese green tea powder.

When visiting this store, you most likely want to order a cold drink. However, because matcha powder is essentially tea powder, it is only easy to disperse evenly in hot drinks. In cold drinks, it tends to have a powdery and gritty texture. However, the taste of matcha latte is still in line with expectations.

This time, I ordered the hojicha latte, which has been roasted at high temperatures. It is full of roasted aroma and also has a sandy and powdery texture.

I think of the item that Jingyiwu once had: charcoal-grilled sweet potato milk tea. The taste is really unique. I wonder if there will be a chance to come back?

2. It seems that there will be a lot of people gathering at the door, but they are not queuing up to order food, they are just waiting for drinks🥤You can bypass them and order drinks first

👌🏻General experience👌🏻:

1. The previous customer was a foreigner and ordered food in English + sign language (for a few drinks). The female clerk’s language part was completely fine.
2. If you order a hot drink, the clerk will ask you whether you want it warm or full hot, which is very considerate👍🏻

🍴Drinking experience🍴:

1. Pearl matcha latte (full heat, slightly sugar) 🍵
   The matcha latte is very fragrant and rich
   During the drinking process, it retains the slightly gritty feeling brewed with ground matcha powder.
   It tastes completely different from the chemical ones on the market💯
   I think the pearl part is not very chewy.
   It has a rather pinkish texture, no elasticity, and a medium size.
   If you’re not a matcha fan, you can order a matcha latte to dilute the matcha flavor a bit.
   If you are a matcha lover, you can try the Marukaku Koyamaen Seiran Matcha recommended by the store.
   If you have a chance, you will definitely try it on your second visit!
   Conclusion: 🌟4/5, the matcha is excellent, don’t add pearls if you can.

2. Assam black tea (half sugar, ice removed)🥤
   My friends who were traveling with me couldn’t accept the taste of matcha at all.
   So I bought Assam black tea to quench my thirst.
   I also secretly drank a few sips⋯so I’ll leave a comment🤣
   Unlike black tea with a strong tea flavor on the market, it has a more brewed taste and is not bitter.
   Generally speaking, sugar-free is fine. I recommend ordering it without ice~
   Because the tea flavor itself is not strong, if you add ice cubes to dilute it, it may not taste as good!
   Conclusion: 🌟2/5, a decent black tea, nothing special. It is recommended to order matcha specifically or order matcha🤣
