Located outside the Fugang Fishing Port in Taitung, "Ah Hong's Fish Shop" is a hidden gem of a seafood restaurant. It does not have a fixed menu and mainly offers fresh seafood dishes based on the day's catch. The menu inside is handwritten, and many of the seafood selections depend on what is available that day, so many dishes are priced according to market value. I don’t often eat this type of seafood, so I’m not quite sure if the prices are considered high.

This time, I ordered a pan-fried white band fish, which was crispy and delicious on the outside, while the fish meat was quite fresh. However, one fish cost 300 NT dollars. Besides the white band fish, I also asked the shop to cut a piece of "longtail fish" for soup. The broth was very fresh and sweet, and the fish meat was quite good, but it wasn’t cheap either, at 80 NT dollars per tael, resulting in a total of 530 NT dollars for the soup.

Additionally, I tried their fried noodles, which came in a large portion and tasted good; this was a relatively high cost-performance option.

As for the mixed sashimi, while the price of 300 NT dollars seemed reasonable, some fish slices were a bit too fibrous, especially the salmon slices which were cut into particularly small pieces, leaving me feeling slightly disappointed. I would not recommend it.

Overall, the seafood at "Ah Hong's Fish Shop" is indeed fresh, but the prices are on the high side. If you are not very familiar with seafood, you might find it somewhat expensive. If you are near Fugang Fishing Port and want to try some freshly caught seafood, this shop is still worth a visit, but be prepared to spend more.
