Since I want to watch the final game of the WBC qualifying round tonight, I have to buy some junk food to go with it, so I decided to try Popeyes Chicken, which has been open for a while.

"Popeyes Chicken Taipei Xuchang Store" is located near Taipei Main Station, about a 2-minute walk from Exit Z2, on Xuchang Road, right next to the bustling Guangnan.

You can order your meal in advance on the official website and pick it up in-store. If you order at 5:30 PM on a weekday, you can get your meal within 10 minutes, which is very convenient! (When I picked up my meal, the restaurant was about one-third full, so there was no queue for dining in.)

The Spicy Chicken Leg Sandwich Combo costs $217 (single order $149). It includes one chicken leg sandwich, one side, and a drink.

For the chicken leg sandwich, you can choose between original or spicy flavor. I chose the original, and the fried chicken leg was quite large. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it; even after sitting for over an hour, the outer crispy layer was still crunchy. I really liked the level of crispiness, and the chicken meat was tender and not dry at all—definitely recommended! The bread was average, but what was interesting was that this sandwich contained cucumber instead of lettuce, with large pieces of pickled cucumber.

For the side, you can choose the KFC crispy fries (S size). If you want to upgrade to a medium portion, it costs an extra $15. If you opt for American coleslaw, it’s an additional $20 (there's a current promotion allowing you to get chocolate biscuits without the extra charge for a limited time). I chose the KFC crispy fries (M size), which are a bit thicker than regular fries but not as thick as sweet potato fries. You really have to eat these hot; I waited over an hour, and the texture became quite unpleasant.

For drinks, you can choose from Sprite, Coke, sparkling water, lemon black tea, hot black tea, apple juice, etc. I chose apple juice. It's worth noting that all the other drinks are size M, while the apple juice is size S. It tastes just like... apple juice... hahaha.

I also purchased the American coleslaw for $60. I originally thought it would be a healthier addition (?) but the salad had quite a bit of mayo in it. It might be okay to share with someone else, but eating it all by myself felt a bit overwhelming. The taste was fine, but I probably won't repurchase this item in the future.

When Popeyes first opened, there was really a long queue. I heard that you have to wait for at least an hour. Fortunately, when I went to dine today, the wait for inside was only about five minutes. The table turnover rate was very high and there were many seats. , after the opening craze, you shouldn’t have to wait too long now.

Popeyes is the second largest fried chicken fast food restaurant chain in the United States. Its Kenjon-style fried chicken has been popular for half a century. The "Brioche Chicken Leg Burger" is also a popular product in the store. The official website says that they are a traditional Southern restaurant. flavour, boasting that their chicken is marinated in their exclusive seasonings for over 12 hours, hand-coated in their unique crispy fried flour and deep-fried.

  The set meal includes a thick brioche chicken drumstick, crispy French fries and a glass of happy water type drink. The chicken drumstick is very thick and juicy when you bite it without drying it out. The marinated chicken is very tasty and is the whole The main source of flavor of the chicken burger, paired with brioche bread and cucumber in the bread, tastes really good. It is recommended to eat the fried chicken while it is hot so that the fried chicken batter will be crispy.
  I thought the side dish of fries was a little dry, which is not my type, but when paired with ketchup, they tasted just right and the portion was slightly smaller.

Personally, I think the set meal of 217 yuan is a bit expensive for the portion size, but I would like to come back to try other fried chicken items.

Taiwan's first Popeyes American fried chicken restaurant opened near CNR at the end of May. Now you don't have to wait in line so long to try it.

🍽️Environment
The overall decoration is quite bright, colorful and extremely air-conditioned.
There are many tables inside, and the tables are very close together, but there is aisle space.
There is a loud American BGM playing in the store all the time, even a little noisy, so the voices of everyone talking are also quite loud. Overall, it feels like eating in a vegetable market.
The meal was expected to be served in 10 minutes, but it was actually served in 6-7 minutes, which was very fast.

Usually the first thing I eat with this kind of meal is the fries, but the fries were too dry for me and not my type.
It behaves normally if you order Happy Water for drinks. There is no lettuce in the Zhendian burger but large pieces of cucumber instead. The mayonnaise sauce of the spicy burger is different from the original flavor. It tastes good but not too spicy. The fried chicken in the middle is crispy on the outside, and the chicken inside is tender and juicy. It is really good when paired with the large cucumber slices to relieve greasiness and change the taste. But it tasted a bit greasy at the end🤣

😄In summary, if you don’t have to wait in line, you can come here to eat. If you have to wait in line for a long time, I will go to Dicos or something like that.

Because it has just opened, there are really a lot of people during dining time. It is the first time I see a fast food restaurant and I have to wait for a table. I hope it will become normal after the craze. 😅
The interior decoration in the store is very American, bright and neat, with good space left in the location. It is quite comfortable to get in and out and after taking a seat. After scanning the QR code to order, you can choose to pay online or check out at the counter, which is also very convenient. Five-star reviews give you fried brown Ni! (The brownie itself is quite delicious, but the only difference in heat is whether it is deep-fried or not. I don’t understand the meaning of deep-frying🤣)
When I first read the reviews, some people thought the fried chicken taste was too salty. I ate it myself and thought it was okay. I quite liked the seasoning. The meat should have been marinated first. It was crispy and juicy when I took a bite. Although it is not cheap, I will still consider returning. Purchase ~
Ken Jon French fries have a peculiar spicy flavor. When I looked it up, they said it was Ken Jon spice, which is a specialty flavor of Louisiana. Some people may like it, but others are fine. I originally thought it was paired with Ken Jon hot sauce xD
Biscuit, although the store itself says it is a signature product, I really will not repurchase it. It costs 60 yuan a piece. The fluffy biscuit should have turned into a dry and solid texture. It is really drier than scone. Yours, I can only say that the food is not worth 60 yuan, so you should just eat burgers and fried chicken when you come here🤣

When I first sat down, it was Don't Joke With A Hungry Man - Quantic American funk with a light and cheerful rhythm. Then there's Thriller - No BS! Brass, which uses a brass band to create more exciting sound effects.

Compared with the huge publicity and long queues when it first opened, it has become normal after a month. You can get a seat when you go inside, scan the order and pay, and the waiter will take the initiative to bring the food to the table ten minutes later. The process is quite smooth.
