🥄 This small shop located at the entrance of Dongmen Night Market is filled with nostalgia as soon as you walk in. The wall menu has a ton of ingredients, and you order by telling them what you don't want; everything else is included 😂
🍵 This time we ordered iced grass jelly with eight treasures ($50) and shaved ice with grass jelly and eight treasures ($55). Both come with a ball of cream, and the iced grass jelly is added directly for you. The grass jelly itself is incredibly tender, smooth, and easy to eat, with toppings of tapioca pearls, taro balls, almond jelly, and taro chunks, all prepared deliciously.
🟣 The almond jelly has a chewy and smooth texture, and there’s absolutely no strange artificial flavor; the taro chunks are soft and creamy, while the taro balls and tapioca pearls maintain a nice bite. The best part is that one bowl is quite filling, and the price is very reasonable!
✨ You really shouldn't miss this place in Dongmen Night Market, whether you're a grass jelly lover or a toppings enthusiast, you'll be satisfied 😀

A favorite spot of my friend's. I visited in September and had the mixed herbal jelly for $50, and this time I came back for takeout since I was near.

This time I ordered two options, both from the ice herbal jelly series, only different in whether they had milk or not. My favorite part is that I can choose from eight toppings without quantity restrictions, so I can add them all. I usually add green beans, taro, tapioca, QQ taro balls; the taro is super delicious with both chunks and paste, and the taro balls are great too. The other toppings are all very chewy, and the bowl is really full, making it very filling. The herbal jelly has a more liquid texture rather than being solid.
Additionally, my friend adds almonds, specifically the almond tofu style, which he enjoys but I personally don't like the taste of almonds. The lower row of toppings can generally be referred to as chewy items, which makes ordering quicker.
Overall, it’s simple, inexpensive, and delicious. The only downside is that it's tough to park near the main road at the intersection. If there was one near my home, I would probably visit often 😂
