📍Zhongshan District, Taipei City
A fresh eel specialty shop with a strong Japanese style 🐟🇯🇵

This is my favorite eel restaurant that I've visited several times. Before trying this type of grilled eel from the Kansai region, I never imagined I would enjoy eel rice so much 🤣

Compared to the kabayaki style, this charcoal-grilled type offers a taste of the grill that is very close to the flavors found locally in Japan. I highly recommend it to those who don't usually like eel; it might change your perception.

The shop uses live, wiggling eels. You can see the chef killing and grilling the eels from outside the window, making the wait time enjoyable.

🐟 Extra large eel rice set ($630):
The three styles of eel are highly recommended!
I suggest ordering the largest bowl because there are many variations in the three styles, and even those with smaller appetites can finish it!

The eel is deliciously rich, full of flavor, with a strong charcoal aroma and a slightly crispy texture.

First bite: Savor the aroma of the eel itself.
Second bite: Add some wasabi, shredded nori, and chopped scallions for a flavor twist.
Third bite: Add broth! This is my favorite way to eat it; it's very comforting and warms the stomach.

🍄
Will I return: Yes!
Although the prices at this restaurant have increased a lot in recent years and the presentation of the eel this time wasn't as appealing, it's still a great choice that I can't forget when craving eel in Taiwan.
