This restaurant specializes in charcoal-grilled buns, featuring ice-fire buns and roasted meat buns as their main offerings. The ice-fire buns are served with condensed milk, creating a memorable blend of sweet and savory flavors. The roasted meat buns, on the other hand, have a typical late-night snack shop taste; they are decent but nothing particularly special.
The store is very popular, and during peak hours, you need to wait for a seat. There is air conditioning for dine-in, making it suitable to enjoy late-night snacks.
The boss's service attitude is friendly and attentive, making guests feel warm and cared for.
What do people in the south like to eat for late-night snacks? The place I visited this time is a popular charcoal-grilled bun shop that’s quite well-known online, but I wonder if only tourists (like me😍) come here.
Since it's close to the hotel I was staying at, it was a quick bike ride there. I arrived around 11, just before midnight, which felt like this shop’s peak time (it’s open until 2 AM). There was no seating inside, so we had to wait outside for a table. The good part is that there’s air conditioning inside, so you don’t have to worry about getting too hot.
However, we chose to take out this time. I had the sweet option while my family had the savory one. Here’s what we ordered:
〻 Ice Fire $45 + Condensed Milk $10
· This is probably the most classic and popular item! I came specifically for this—eating this at night might make you gain weight, but it will also make you very happy. 😄 The owner kindly asked if I wanted the butter in the bun right away or separately; he suggested eating it right away if it’s in the bun as it melts quickly. Although keeping it separate will still melt, it gives you more time.
In addition to the butter, I also indulgently added condensed milk, thinking that since I was in Tainan, I had to have something sweet before I left. I must say, this combination was absolutely excellent—the slightly smoky flavor from the charcoal grill, the warm bun combined with the refreshing and sweet-salty toppings, the sensation of Ice Fire is instantly understood.
〻 Grilled Meat $55
· This one feels like a grilled meat burger from a regular late-night snack shop. It’s delicious but doesn’t stand out or have anything particularly exceptional.
The owner of this shop has excellent service attitudes and is very thoughtful; they deserve to have good business. I think in terms of flavor, if I were within a 15-minute bike ride from here, I would come back, but I wouldn’t trek mountains and rivers just for this place.
This is all I have to share.
