When I was at a loss for what to eat, a familiar red and white decor suddenly appeared in front of me. Upon checking, I realized it was Five Guys, a very popular American burger chain, ranked alongside In-N-Out and Shake Shack as a national fast-food brand. I thought since I hadn't tried it in Macau yet, I would go in and take a look. To my surprise, a small burger and a small fries came to MOP 160, which is over NT600, making me question my life choices💸
🍔 I ordered the Little Bacon Burger, which allowed me to choose toppings for free. I added mayonnaise, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms. It tasted decent, and the flavor could be adjusted. The patty had some thickness, but it was a bit dry, not quite juicy. Compared to my memories of Shake Shack, I still prefer the latter a bit more.
🍟 The fries were the freshly cut, skin-on kind, fried crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. However, they were generously salted, and by the end, it was a bit overwhelming. The portion was quite casual; the paper bag was nearly bursting, giving off a very American vibe and also packing those American calories🤣
🥜 There was also a whole box of peanuts available for self-service in the restaurant, and many people were snacking on peanuts while waiting for their burgers. Overall, the environment was comfortable, and the atmosphere was on point, but the prices were quite painful to bear ❤️🩹. It's worth a visit for tourists to experience just once.
