Today I came to Ying Beef Soup in Shanhua District. I originally wasn't planning to eat here, but since the noodle shop I intended to go to was too crowded, I switched to this place recommended by a colleague.

This restaurant has a unique feature: you can enjoy unlimited rice with braised pork. A single bowl costs $40, which seems a bit pricey at first glance, but considering the all-you-can-eat option, it’s still reasonable. The braised pork rice mainly consists of fatty meat, which has that sticky texture that can cling to your lips. The taste is decent, but the aroma is not particularly strong or impressive.

The beef soup follows a mildly sweet profile. The broth is not complicated and does not have any noticeable artificial flavor, making it quite comfortable to drink. Among the many beef soups in Tainan, this one is probably of moderate quality.

We also ordered a few stir-fried dishes:
Stir-fried greens: The portion is decent, but it lacks a strong wok flavor; it's fairly standard.
Sesame oil beef: I found this dish not very good, as it had a bitter taste. I'm not sure if the salt was added too early or if the sesame oil was overcooked, but it definitely didn't have the fragrance it should have.
Scrambled eggs with beef: This dish performed quite well; the portion is generous, the eggs are smooth and fragrant, and the beef pairs well.

Overall, Ying Beef Soup’s quality is probably slightly above average in Tainan. Aside from the sesame oil beef, the other dishes are quite good. However, considering the competitive environment for beef soup in Tainan, this restaurant doesn’t stand out significantly, so I personally wouldn’t revisit it specifically.
