The Chicken Yuen Noodles Restaurant is located on Songshan Road opposite Wufenpu. Since it's named after chicken, naturally the signature dishes focus on chicken.
Today, I enjoyed the pickled cabbage shrimp noodles, mushroom chicken soup, signature handmade shrimp wontons, layered tofu, and mustard wood ear mushrooms, totaling 520 NT dollars.
Pickled Cabbage Shrimp Noodles:
Although the restaurant's signature is chicken, this bowl of pickled cabbage shrimp noodles is equally impressive. It comes with two large fresh shrimp, delicious and juicy, and the pickled cabbage broth is a harmonious blend of sour and fresh. The meatballs, decorated squid, and baby bok choy, along with a runny egg, were all of very good quality.
Mushroom Chicken Soup:
Since I arrived late, only this bowl of chicken soup was left. The abundance of mushrooms contributes a fresh flavor to the thick and rich chicken broth, gently spreading warmth in the stomach and heart.
Signature Handmade Shrimp Wontons:
A set of four, with thin skins. The shrimp meat is fresh and springy, sprinkled with green onions and a small amount of sauce, simple yet delicious.
Layered Tofu:
The tofu is expertly cut, with a delicate texture. The sesame sauce complements it very harmoniously.
Mustard Wood Ear Mushrooms:
Although the mustard flavor is not distinctly visible, the aroma is quite prominent, and the taste has a spicy kick that rushes up the nose—a delicious stimulation.
Overall, it is a very tasty noodle shop. However, since the business is quite good, visiting early can help avoid disappointment.
That day, only one bowl of chicken soup was left, the eggplant was sold out, and there was no okra. Even the cutlery drawer had only one pair of chopsticks left. I directly asked, "Are you out of chopsticks too?" (laughs).
Recommended to everyone!

Encountering a delicious chicken soup restaurant by chance is definitely a happy day for me, a chicken soup lover. In fact, I originally planned to go to Raohe Night Market for dinner today, but seeing that terrifying crowd was really scary. , immediately retreated and looked for something to eat nearby.
"Chicken Noodle House" is not far from Raohe Night Market and Songshan Station. It takes about 5-8 minutes to walk. I heard the customer next door saying that after finishing this meal, he would go to Raohe Night Market to continue eating 😂
There are not many seats in the store, which can accommodate about 14 people. I arrived at around 8pm on a Saturday night and it was not full, so I was seated directly without queuing. After ordering, the food was served very quickly ~
The noodles here are divided into soup noodles and dry noodles. The soup noodles include chicken soup noodles and shrimp noodles, while the dry noodles include Sichuan Dandan noodles and scallion noodles. They also sell some Kung Fu specialties, such as shrimp wontons and chicken leg rolls. , fried oysters, etc.
Since we were not too hungry, we both ordered a bowl of noodles and two kung fu dishes to share.
Cantonese style old turkey noodle soup $190
The chicken soup is very rich and delicious. I drank the whole bowl till it bottomed out. The softness and hardness of the noodles are ok, not bad.
What’s inside is not the usual chicken leg meat or chicken breast slices, but chicken leg rolls! The chicken tastes so tender, there is no special seasoning but it is delicious!
There are also some mushrooms such as snow white mushrooms, Hongxi mushrooms, and baby cabbage. I especially want to praise the baby cabbage. It is stewed until it is very soft and tender, which is amazing!
Chicken thigh roll with scallion oil $90
It is the same as the chicken drumstick roll in the chicken noodle soup. It is cut into 5 pieces. Each piece is about the size of a bite, and they are just as tender!
You can choose scallion oil or Shaoxing for flavor. Because I am afraid that Shaoxing wine will have a strong flavor, I choose a safer brand of scallion oil. Put a small amount of scallion sauce directly on the chicken drumstick roll. The two tastes go very well together. You can taste Hong Kong instantly when you eat it. I quite like the feeling of fried chicken~
Chicken, scallions and vegetables blanched in oil $60
Today’s seasonal vegetable is Lishan cabbage. Drizzled with chicken and scallion oil and some fried scallions, it’s a very simple and delicious dish. The cabbage tastes very crispy, but it still has a bit of a raw taste. Does it need to be cooked longer?
The portion is a bit smaller, so the price seems a bit expensive
Overall, the performance of each meal is good. The chicken noodle soup is delicious and delicious, but now there are indeed many such chicken noodle restaurants in Taipei. My own recommendation list includes "Chicken Noodles CHILLMEN" and "Chicken Soup Wing" , happen to be not far from my home, so I don’t necessarily have to go all the way to Songshan to eat there, but if I’m nearby, I’ll want to visit again!
