The creative dishes made with stinky tofu may have novelty, but the taste is ordinary. The fried skin has a bit of an oily aftertaste, and the pairing with the spicy oil stir-fried hands is not very harmonious, making the overall experience disappointing.
The shop is located in the bustling Ningxia Night Market, with seating both inside and outside. The turnover rate is high, so even when full, you can quickly find a spot, and the atmosphere is lively.
Although the service aspects were not mentioned in detail, the high table turnover rate indicates that the service efficiency is quite good and able to respond quickly to customer needs.
Location: Zhongshan District, Taipei City
One of the famous shops at Ningxia Night Market
Stinky tofu has always been Taiwan's most famous dish.
For me, it doesn't taste too bad,
but this shop seems to want to innovate.
Overall, I don't find it very tasty.
They want to be unique but it comes off as very ordinary,
which was quite disappointing.
🌟 San Bao Stinky Tofu
A combination of three different flavors of stinky tofu,
from the regular fried stinky tofu
to the fried wonton flavor,
all of which are super ordinary. The fried skin has a bit of an oily aftertaste,
so it's quite disappointing.
🌟 Red Oil Wontons
These are wontons wrapped in a base of stinky tofu.
The red oil seasoning is okay and acceptable,
but I didn't find the flavor of the wontons very fitting.
There's a bit of a sense of discord.
There is some creativity, but I didn't like it.
Located in Ningxia Night Market, there is a vendor in the night market. The store we visited today is at the end of the night market. From the first generation there were only vendors to now the third generation has opened a store.
There are seats inside and outside the store, and the table turnover rate is quite high. Even if it is full, you can get a seat quickly.
Spicy stinky tofu $75
A little spicy. It was too spicy for someone like me who is not very good at spicy food. I shed tears while eating it.
The stinky tofu is steamed and very tasty. This bowl also contains cabbage, sauerkraut, and mushrooms. It is recommended to add some prince noodles. This bowl is quite filling for one meal.
Fried stinky tofu $60
It's quite a big plate, the tofu is about the size of a mouthful, about 12 pieces, and it's very crispy, but I don't think it's very tasty. I need to add more sauce (garlic sauce, chili sauce), or mix it with Eat the kimchi together to get the flavor, so the amount of kimchi is too much
Overall, steamed stinky tofu is more to my liking than fried stinky tofu, and the price is acceptable. If I come to Ningxia Night Market, I will be willing to eat steamed stinky tofu again.
ps. There are also some creative items here, such as stinky tofu fried hands and crispy stinky wontons. I want to try them next time
