The roasted beef heart at the restaurant is very delicious, tender and rich in sauce flavor, akin to a premium steak, paired with baked potatoes that have a strong aroma.
Although the restaurant is modest, it is filled with the aroma of barbecued meat and rich local flavors.
The boss lady is enthusiastic. Although reservations cannot be made, the service is thoughtful, and most customers leave soon after finishing their meals.
If you are an experienced traveler, you should find it not difficult to locate this local restaurant. Although it may seem simple, it is definitely worth a try! The ordering method here is quite special; you will see the menu displayed at the entrance, which doesn’t offer many choices. The most important dish is the beef heart 🫀. Of course, there are also some small side dishes or drinks 🥤 that you can order additionally. However, the owner at the entrance usually just asks how many skewers you want. After placing your order and paying 💰, you can go inside and find a seat. There are relatively many seats inside, and most people finish eating and leave quickly without lingering too long!
All the beef hearts are grilled on-site. The aroma of barbecued meat fills the entire restaurant! One of my friends and I initially planned to share a serving of three skewers of beef heart, but after finishing, we went back for another skewer, which gives you an idea of how delicious their grilled beef heart is! The beef heart is soaked in sauce before grilling, making it very chewy and flavorful when you eat it, almost like enjoying a top-quality steak 🥩 but with an added bouncy texture like that of a pearl! They also provide some potatoes 🥔 as a side. The potatoes are slightly grilled after being boiled, adding a particularly rich aroma. If you usually prefer milder flavors, you can eat them with the beef heart to perfectly blend the tastes!
Overall, I definitely recommend it; they serve very authentic local Peruvian flavors, so don’t expect reservations or overly formal service. However, the service is already quite good! But in the end, the food is the main focus, so I hope those who visit don’t miss out!
