When living in Kaohsiung and Tainan, it is very common to encounter a delicious bowl of hotpot pasta, but food like hotpot pasta is not so easy to find in Taipei.

My friend who is studying in Tainan with me recommended this "Friends Canteen" to me. He said that their hot pot pasta is Tainan style and you can come and try it.

The nearest MRT station to "Friends Canteen" is Daqiaotou Station. It takes about 8 minutes to walk. The store looks like a homely shop with only a few tables. It is semi-outdoor and has no air-conditioning. It will be useful in hot weather like these days. It was quite painful, so we simply took it out.

Kimchi hotpot pasta $90
I originally wanted to order the original hot pot pasta, but my friend said that their kimchi is sour. This weather seems to be in need of a sour appetizer.
I want to praise a small thing first. On the menu of this restaurant, you can choose "no shrimp". If you don't want shrimp, you can change it to more slices of meat. It's great for people like me who eat pot roast pasta and don't like shrimp. Actually I really ate a lot of meat slices online.
There are a lot of pork slices, but they are relatively small, and they are mainly lean meat, so they taste a little spicy.
There were a lot of kimchi, and the soup was really sour and refreshing. It tasted very good. I almost finished the whole bowl.
The ingredients include meatballs, sweet and spicy, fish slabs, and eggs. It’s a pity that if you choose the kimchi soup base, there seems to be no vegetables.

Overall, the price is very cute. The original pot roast pasta is only $75, and the taste is passable. I am willing to visit again if I am nearby.

If you don’t want to eat noodles, this store also sells rice bowls. It also sells longan and mung bean smoothies, honey lemon smoothies and other drinks. I heard from friends that they are also good, so I might try them next time.
