Haidilao's dishes have always been outstanding, especially the golden crispy meat, shrimp paste, and beef paste, all highly recommended. I particularly like the tomato soup base, which is suitable for various meats and can also be used to make egg drop soup, offering a unique taste. The seasonings are diverse, and the side dishes and fruits are also fresh and delicious.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very elegant, with a well-designed environment that makes people feel comfortable and pleasant. It is a great place for gatherings.
The attitude of the staff is friendly and efficient, providing thoughtful service and proactively offering assistance, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
🍲 Haidilao Hot Pot | Xinyi Breeze Nanshan Store
📍 B2, No. 17, Songzhi Road, Xinyi District, Taipei City 110 (Breeze Nanshan Basement Two)
🕚 11:00 AM – 4:00 AM
🔥 For the soup base, we chose: Golden Sichuan Pepper Lemon, Sauerkraut Fish, Tomato, and Clear Soup.
The newly launched Golden Sichuan Pepper Lemon has a slightly sour and spicy flavor with a unique aroma, refreshing to drink in the summer 🍋. The Sauerkraut Fish was a first try; the broth was strong but there were fewer fish slices; the Tomato pot remains the best, with a rich sweet and sour taste that isn’t overwhelming 🍅.
🥩 The main dishes included Pickled Chicken Leg, US Selected Fat Beef, and Pork Collar; the meat quality is above average, with the chicken leg being the most tender.
🦐 The signature shrimp paste is cooked with the help of the staff, which is quite considerate. The handmade shrimp and egg dumpling has a firm texture but wasn't very memorable.
🍗 The golden crispy pork is good whether eaten alone or in the pot.
🥬 For the sides, we ordered egg dumplings, mushrooms, baby bok choy, and 8-second oil tofu skin. The first few performed well, but I found the oil tofu skin a bit dry.
🍬 The dessert was brown sugar rice cake, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.
🍉 The watermelon juice had a freshly blended slushy feel, perfectly sweet, but not every store offers it.
🧾 Three people spent $2776, with the chicken leg being redeemed with points leading to a total of $2516. Although there were many items, it felt a bit empty after eating 😶. Unfortunately, the main dishes and portion sizes did not provide a sense of fullness, and considering the price, it’s on the higher side. Overall, the experience was average~I wouldn’t have thought of this for a late-night snack.
The service was exemplary and the staff were very willing to proactively offer assistance. There were also many customizable ingredient options, allowing everyone to try things out themselves (for example, shrimp paste with crispy rolls, or noodles with minced meat wrapped in dumplings).
I particularly enjoyed their tomato soup base, which is suitable for cooking with any type of meat. When you're done, you can use the soup base to make an egg drop soup, which has a really unique flavor that I highly recommend.
The variety of seasonings is also very diverse, allowing enthusiasts of all tastes to enjoy their preferred flavors. The side dishes and fruits are also delicious and fresh, making them perfect for either starting with a light bite or for enjoying a little after a full meal while chatting.
The ice cream is the well-known Haagen-Dazs, and unlike many ice creams from other shops that can be hard and difficult to scoop, this one is really great. The only downside is that there are only two flavor options available.
As for the drinks, there are many choices, and there is a partnered drink shop where you can order beverages. However, the built-in juice is a bit lacking in chill, which is a bit disappointing, but you can ask them for ice (we ordered watermelon juice this time).
