This ramen shop's creamy chicken white broth ramen and salt-flavored tonkotsu char siu ramen are highly recommended. The broth is rich and has a delicate texture, and the char siu is thick with a wonderful grilled aroma. The mentaiko char siu rice is also outstanding, paired with shredded nori and sauce, creating an excellent flavor.
The restaurant environment is clean and simple, with limited seating, so patience is required while waiting. The chef cooks in front of the guests, which is reassuring.
The staff are friendly and attentive, and the provided baskets and iced water make the dining experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant also warms the bowls beforehand, taking care of the details properly.
🎉 One of the Must-Eat Ramen in Taoyuan 🎉
🎉 Food at Yuan Ze University 🎉
This ramen shop is located on Zhongxiao Road in Neili and is considered a famous food spot in Neili. It's truly one of the must-eat ramens in Taoyuan. 😆 During meal times, there's often a long line. ☺️ Today, I hurried over as soon as the shop opened to grab a bite. 😋
The dining environment inside is clean and simple, with only about a dozen seats. The shop is narrow, so the chef prepares the ramen right in front of you. 😁 The entire cooking process is visible to the customers, which makes it more reassuring. 😌
Shio Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen:
I ordered a bowl of the classic shio ramen, and the shop offers two types of noodles: regular and extra thin, with the option to choose the firmness according to personal preference. The broth has a stronger flavor, so if you want more soup, you can ask the shop to add some unsalted broth. 😙 But personally, I think the saltiness is just right. 😁 The chashu is thick and emits an enhanced aroma after being torched, but the charred baby corn looks a bit intimidating. 😆 I can only say this is an adult's version of baby corn. 😊
Rich Spicy Miso Ramen:
One is light, and the other has to be heavily flavored. 😆 The rich broth is definitely a must-order for those who like bold flavors, bringing a taste reminiscent of Japan. 😆 Additionally, there are many chopped onions in the broth, and after sipping it, it feels like salty bubble tea, enhancing the experience of drinking the soup. 😙 This bowl includes a whole soft-boiled egg, which is incredibly satisfying. 🤩
Mentaiko Chashu Rice:
The portion of mentaiko sauce is quite good. After mixing in a generous amount of shredded seaweed and sauce, it becomes extra smooth. The rice feels so much smoother to eat. 👍 As someone who prefers bold flavors, I also added a little spicy miso soup, which doubled the aroma. 😘
In Summary:
The shop has limited seating, so patience is required when dining. 😆 I noticed that the shop warms the bowls beforehand, which is a major plus for someone like me who prefers hot ramen. This shows the shop pays attention to such details. 👍 Many people say the chicken white soup and the dipping noodles are highly recommended. 😏 I definitely need to go back and try them next time. 😋
My grandson is in Taoyuan/Zhongli, which is a pretty good ramen shop.
I've been here a few times, and my favorite is the chicken white soup ramen.
The snow-white soup head is like a painting, and the barbecued pork and vegetables on it are the scenery of the snowy field.
The delicate texture of the floating powder makes the soup thicker. You can choose whether the soup is rich or not. As a heavy-flavored person, I naturally thickened the soup.
The side dishes are also excellent enough, the vegetables are pleasing to the eye, the grilled flavor of the corn shoots is great, the taste and thickness of the barbecued pork are sincere, it is a very good ramen.
Of course, it is not perfect. The small drawback is that the soup is a bit small and the temperature of the soup is not hot enough, even if you don't take pictures, but the flaws are not hidden, and I give it four stars. It is already a pretty good ramen shop!
