Suitable for group dinners and birthday celebrations, Italian cuisine with highly considerate gifts for the birthday star.
Italian restaurant Château de Gruyères New Store Carrefour is, as the name suggests, located on the 7th floor of New Store Carrefour, about a 9-minute walk from the Qizhang MRT station. (One special reminder, there are only 2 small elevators for stores above the 5th floor of New Store Carrefour, making them very difficult to wait for, so it's best to arrive early to avoid being late.) If you drive here, you can park in the Carrefour underground parking lot, and the meal cost can offset the parking fee.
We didn't make a reservation in advance today, and found a table for four about half an hour ago on Google Maps + Inline. Surprisingly, there were plenty of available seats at noon on a Saturday. (Previously, dinner time always required a reservation or queuing.)
There are many seats inside the restaurant, including semi-private sofa seats for 6-10 people, as well as tables for 2-4 people, suitable for customers in various combinations. The overall decor has a darker color tone; although it's noon, the lighting isn't very sufficient.
After being seated, the staff will bring water and a menu. You order by using a QR code, and pay after the meal. Cash, credit cards, and multiple payment methods are accepted. Receipts can be loaded, and there is a service charge.
We ordered quite a bit today; meal feedback is written under the photos below.
Primarily, we only ordered the Classic Two-person Set for $1200, and everything else was complimentary.
Besides the two-person set, we used the main course voucher $230 from the Skylark Group via the Ocard App + an appetizer voucher $150 occasionally given with purchases at Carrefour downstairs (each coupon has a minimum spend requirement).
There were also birthday gifts: one person with a birthday this month received a small dessert valued up to $130, and another with a birthday today received a large dessert valued up to $260.
So today, four people ate all the food pictured + two drinks (unpictured), and we even packed a small chocolate brownie + red guava cake + caramel apple crispy pizza.
I'm someone with a huge appetite, and I was so full I had to pack leftovers, thoroughly enjoying the meal. The staff's service attitude was excellent and wasn't compromised by us ordering so many complimentary items. Although the servers appeared young and relatively inexperienced, it didn't affect the dining experience.
In conclusion, we had an extremely satisfying meal today, satisfied in all aspects, a solid four stars!
