In the alley next to Zhishan MRT Station, there are several well-known restaurants nearby. The location is quite good, and the atmosphere in the shop is dim, clean, and comfortable, featuring a distinctive style, as it specializes in direct-fire charcoal grilling.
You can choose between a full or half set of omakase-style dishes, along with pairings of tea and alcohol. Personally, I found the meals to be quite good, but nothing outstanding. Interestingly, I preferred the aged chicken thigh that I ordered additionally. The service was attentive, but considering the prices, I feel like it’s worth experiencing once but not necessarily returning.
I happened to have the opportunity to chat with the chef and sensed his dedication and the challenges of running the business. Since it’s direct-fire charcoal grilling, they’ve invested significantly in smoke extraction and odor removal. Due to various regulations, they also have to close the restaurant for three days, which is quite challenging but commendable.
