Located in the urban area of Hsinchu City, the local famous eatery "Sister Hsu's Duck Meat Noodles" is a nostalgic spot for many Hsinchu residents, from students to office workers. This small restaurant specializes in duck dishes and is not only a favorite for local students and working professionals but also a must-visit spot for outsiders who want to experience Hsinchu's everyday cuisine. 🦆

The shop is always bustling with people, especially during peak hours after school or work. Many come here for a bowl of steaming hot duck meat noodles, filled with the aroma of duck fat, whether stir-fried or in soup, each having its own supporters.

This time, I ordered the "Stir-Fried Duck Meat Noodles."
The aroma is rich, with the stir-fried noodles giving off a strong scent of duck fat and a hint of smokiness. The texture is smooth and delightfully moist without being greasy. Although the noodles themselves are on the softer side, they blend perfectly with the duck fat, making them very satisfying and filling. The flavor of the stir-fried noodles is simple yet not monotonous, providing a delightful taste for those who enjoy bold flavors. The only downside is that the quantity of duck meat is limited, with only two pieces, and there are more bones than meat, making it a bit cumbersome to eat. However, the overall portion of the noodles is generous, making it a worthwhile choice for students or office workers just looking to fill their stomachs!

As for the "Duck Meat Soup Noodles,"
the broth is rich, showcasing the natural sweetness from thoroughly simmered duck bones. It's clean and not greasy, offering a satisfying pure taste without needing excessive seasoning. The noodles are relatively chewy and complement the broth well, absorbing the aroma of the duck soup in every bite, making it particularly enjoyable and soothing. Compared to the stir-fried noodles, the soup noodles better highlight the care taken in cooking the broth and handling the ingredients!

It's worth mentioning that although I didn't order the "Spicy Stir-Fried Duck Blood" this time, I highly recommend it for spicy food lovers or those wanting a side dish. I had tasted it before, and the duck blood is very flavorful, with a spicy and numbing kick that is not just simply hot but boasts deep aromatic spiciness from the spices, which pairs wonderfully with the duck meat dishes. 🌶️

In summary, Sister Hsu's is an old shop with simple flavors that makes you want to visit again. The stir-fried noodles are bold while the soup noodles are comforting, each having its own fans. Although there may be room for improvement in the variety of ingredients, it has delivered consistently satisfying offerings as an affordable eatery favored by locals for many years. For first-time visitors to Hsinchu, I would say: "Don't just eat rice noodles and meatballs. Sister Hsu's Duck Meat Noodles are the true daily fare of Hsinchu." Whether you are a student, an office worker, or simply looking for a comforting bowl, this place is worth stopping by for a taste of Hsinchu's duck-flavored memories!
