It's rare to not have homework, so I sat down to eat after passing by and smelling the aroma. 🤣 This place should have chain stores in various locations, but it’s my first experience. I really can't resist traditional snacks like this! Since the shop is called "Chiayi Turkey Rice," I had to try the most famous dish! I ordered a large serving of turkey rice and also added a portion of spicy braised tofu that caught my eye in the glass display. The serving lady was quite bold and had a very local service style. Looking at Google reviews, many people thought the lady’s attitude was poor and her tone was harsh, but I personally could accept it as long as I got the right meal. Hahahahaha! 🤣
✐ Chicken Rice (Large) $60
The large portion wasn’t too much; I was about 70-80% full after finishing it. I felt it might be a bit empty without ordering a side dish. The rice was somewhat soft. However, the chicken oil and garlic slices drizzled over the rice had a strong aroma. The chicken wasn’t very moist but also not dry; it was average in quality. I added a spoonful of chili bean paste from the sauce area, and it was good that I only added one spoon because it was really salty. 🥹
✐ Braised Tofu $25
The braised tofu itself isn't very flavorful, just a bit spicy, but the tofu absorbed the sauce really well, making it taste great. Suddenly, I was craving a piece of duck blood (?).
