📍 Taipei City, Datong District (Dadaocheng Business Circle)
Established since 1930 | A wide variety of traditional pastry shop 🥮🥠
This shop seems to be a famous place in the Dadaocheng area. There were many people inside when I passed by, and the decor fits the artsy style of Dadaocheng very well.
There are super many pastry items, mainly Taiwanese/Chinese, with lots of rare varieties. This time I bought a ton with my mom, probably because the Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, and many people are buying gift boxes! We had to queue for a while to check out.
Below are key items selected for introduction:
🫘 White Bean Paste Cake ($50):
As soon as you enter, you see a variety of fillings in cakes. This is the traditional mooncake appearance, and it's the best one I bought this time! The bean paste made from white phoenix beans is light in color and has a smooth, not overly sweet texture.
🌞 Sun Cake:
Frosted texture, tastes like malt candy, but compared to the authentic sun cakes from Taichung, it seems to lack a certain flavor.
🥮 Wife Cake:
Tastes similar to the previous sun cake, but with an added chewy texture that is quite nice.
🥭 Mango Rice Roll ($40):
Selected from ready-made rice skin, the outer skin is a bit dry, and the filling consists of marinated mango instead of fresh mango.
