A small Japanese curry soft-boiled egg shop near Bei Yi, with very few seats, mostly for takeout, and there are thoughtful little hooks under the seats.
There’s a window at the back for picking up orders, and once you’re done eating, you just leave the dishes on the table.
The price is 139 NT dollars, which is a bit high, but the portion is sufficient and very filling… (I already ordered less rice!)
Meal:
Japanese black curry, topped with a golden spiral egg, smooth and tender, definitely makes people love it even more. The black curry is made with cocoa, turmeric, and cream, creating a stark visual aesthetic due to the differences in color.
Knowing my own limitations, I reduced the amount of rice, so the rice in the photo looks small, but it actually looks better in person.
Cauliflower, boiled. Hmm, hard to rate. It’s very much just cauliflower.
Chicken, like sous-vide chicken breast; honestly, it feels like a completely separate dish that has been added together.
White rice, sometimes a bit hard and slightly overcooked, but most of the time, the rice's texture pairs well with the curry.
Service:
No one is outside, please call inside directly. Very straightforward; no pleasantries. It can also feel like there’s no service at all.
Environment:
A small seating area, very clean. At least the times I visited, it was kept that way.
Review:
This is a pretty good place for eggs and curry sauce.
