[Five Stars: A Must-Eat, Will Definitely Visit Again]
I give my five stars all to the sweet potato pancake😭🍠
Before coming to Tainan, I did some research online and found this place that everyone said was a must-try, Lin's White Sugar Cake. The little stand is located on Guohua Street, and it truly lives up to being a food paradise!
The menu is quite simple: sweet potato pancakes, white sugar cakes, and taro cakes.
You can mix and match any three for just 35 NT dollars. This price really brings tears to my eyes…

Not knowing which one is better, I bought one of each.
What we got was freshly fried; basically, we could pick it up right after paying—the boss is super fast!
My friends and I unanimously rated them:
Sweet potato pancake > white sugar cake > taro cake.
Although the store is named after the white sugar cake, their sweet potato pancake is truly amazing🫨
I originally didn’t have high expectations, but when I took a bite, there was honey!!! The crispy sweet potato pancake had a gooey filling of sweet honey.
If I had another chance, I would definitely choose it over the other two (can you hear my love for it…)
As for the white sugar cake, it’s delicious! The taro cake is a bit dull.
But they are considered to be at a lower level compared to the sweet potato pancake 😎
Even though this is Tainan, I think the sweetness level here is just fine~
If you come to Guohua Street, you really have to give it a try!

阿樓師火雞肉飯
Street FoodChiayi City

A bit disappointing. The idea is good, but most of the food in different stalls (tested 3) is pretty average and oily. Nothing else to do inside. But nice picnic table to spend some time with friends. Prices are ok.

Genuine food enthusiasts know that it’s not always about set menus & ostentatious wine pairings. Occasionally, we just wanna head out without a fuss, throw on a pair of preppy shorts for a snacky bowl of old town’s sweet juicy roasted pork, crabmeat & wontons noodle in rich chx broth & a icy c0oL cup of fresh aromatic banana mixed berries cold-pressed juice. It’s often the hearty, casual & simple meals that bring out the true scrumptious taste of Thai. For any ‘anytime, anywhere’ occasions, we’d recommend expats, tourists or even locals to gather in this Bangkok’s top street food court. Sometimes, there’s nothing better than quasi-street eats (with air conditioning, ofc, heheehh). Here, we roam around the Bangkok’s signature food court for the city’s most ordinary yet eXtraordinarily delectable drinks & noodles feasts. nom nom nom + affordable + ample aircon + vibrant vibes + fast + plenty of comfy seats + exotic background music + bromantic sexy lightings + noisy atmosphere all around u like dining in an overcrowded concrete jungle with all the unknown mythical creatures from all over the universe speaking in their languages = fun fun fun 🥰✌🏻
