🦆 Authentic Duck Rice
The duck rice recommended by Bib Gourmand is located on the bustling Yucheng Road. During mealtime, whether for dine-in or takeout, you will have to wait. The indoor space is a bit cramped, as the restaurant uses dividers to turn a four-person table into two sets of two-person seats to maximize space.
This time, I ordered the large bowl of duck rice for $80. The white rice is drizzled with duck oil, which makes it very fragrant, and the meat sauce adds a bit of flavor. However, I think there was too much duck oil, as the rice at the bottom became soggy and soft, which I didn't really like. As for the duck meat, it was average—not too tough, but also not tender enough. Additionally, even though it's a large bowl, the portion isn't very filling, so those with a big appetite might not be satisfied, especially given the price, which feels a bit high.
If you're nearby and want to try the Bib Gourmand recommendation, it’s worth a visit, but I suggest avoiding peak hours to minimize your waiting time.
