Cai Ji Di Hua Street Traditional Oyster Omelette is located in the Dadaocheng Di Hua Street business area and is a very popular local snack shop. It originally started as a small stall hidden in an alley but has successfully expanded into a two-story main store, demonstrating its popularity and reputation.
Today, I dined in and ordered oyster omelette, meat omelette, salted clams, chive sticks, and oyster soup, totaling 375 NT dollars.
Oyster Omelette, Meat Omelette:
These two fried items are the shop's signature dishes, with the main difference being the filling ingredients. The oyster omelette is full and juicy, with the freshness of oysters perfectly intertwined with the crispy texture from frying; the meat omelette is primarily made with minced pork, well-seasoned but not overly salty, with a solid filling that gives a satisfying fullness. The outer layer is crispy and aromatic, making it a classic Tai-style fried dish.
Salted Clams:
The saltiness is well-balanced and not overpowering, with a subtle hint of rice wine and garlic, making it a suitable side dish to cleanse the palate.
Chive Sticks:
This item is relatively rare in snack shops. The chives are well-selected, with fine and tender fibers and a refreshing aroma, complemented by the crispy fried batter, making it not greasy.
Oyster Soup:
The broth is light yet flavorful, with large, plump oysters that are very cleanly prepared. As a finishing light soup, it provides a very comfortable transition, with just the right amount of both portion and flavor.
Overall, it is an old shop that brings out layers and sincerity in traditional fried snacks, with both the main dishes and soup performing at a high standard.
The only downside is that the dining space is quite narrow, especially during peak meal times, where both the second and first-floor seats feel a bit cramped, which is a common issue in popular shops.
I highly recommend it to everyone!
I've been too busy these last few months, so I will adjust the way I write my food reviews a bit moving forward. See you next time!
