Recently, while wandering in Xinyi District with friends, I happened to see "Niu Yi Niu Thick-Cut Steak." It didn't look expensive, so we decided to go in and give it a try. I ordered the selected double combination of beef and chicken for $330.

This dish was served on a large round iron plate. I chose black pepper sauce, and the steak was cooked medium. The doneness was controlled very well; the meat was tender, with no issues chewing. The chicken thigh was crispy on the outside while still being juicy and tender inside. The black pepper sauce wasn't too spicy, with just the right richness, complementing both the steak and chicken well. The noodles had a slight floury texture and were relatively ordinary compared to the other items, but still acceptable overall.
🍜 Beef Soup & Corn Cream Soup
In the self-service area, besides the typical corn cream soup that you find in regular Taiwanese steak houses, they surprisingly offered beef soup! The beef soup seemed to be made from the trimmings of the steak, with a clear broth that still had chunks of meat, which was quite a pleasant surprise for a free self-service option. The corn soup was a bit thicker, with diced ham and corn, having a slight sweetness—classic Taiwanese steak style.
🍽️ Other Buffet Items
Besides the soups, the restaurant also had common items like toast and self-service ice cream. Notably, they also had popcorn, white rice, and curry chicken. I didn't get to try the popcorn, rice, and curry chicken this time as I was too full. The ice cream was average, but it was nice that they provided cookies to go along with it.

For Taipei City, this restaurant truly offers a great value for steak. The self-service bar has a rich selection, and the overall food quality is above average, plus it's conveniently located—making it perfect for a weekend gathering with friends. If you're looking for an affordable yet delicious steak in Xinyi District, this place is definitely worth recommending.
