After completing a relatively big assignment, I wanted to go eat something substantial with a friend! I asked ChatGPT to recommend a café where we could have a savory dinner, and it suggested this place (my friend knew it, said it was quite new, and was surprised that GPT would recommend it).
Interestingly, they do not accommodate children under 12, and there might be dogs inside, so anyone afraid of dogs should think twice before going.
The café has three floors, and I found the space to be quite spacious with no overcrowding. The interior is warmly decorated, with a cozy atmosphere in warm wood tones—a nice quiet vibe!
My friend and I arrived around 7:00 PM, and we were the only customers, sitting on the third floor.
What I had:
🌻 Baked Tomato Toast with Bacon $180 + $80
If you're craving savory food, do not order this... The tomatoes are cherry tomatoes, and since the toast is buttered, it leans more towards sweetness rather than savory. It can't even be described as sweet and salty together; it’s just sweet. Those who like cherry tomatoes can give it a try, but I really dislike them (my face wrinkled up when I bit into one). The bacon was a good addition; it was quite tasty, but a bit pricey for the small portion.
🌻 Handmade Strawberry Jam Lemon Sparkling Drink $180
Super delicious! Highly recommend! I often have sparkling drinks when I visit cafés (since I don’t drink coffee), and this place’s sparkling drink was truly great… the strawberry jam is clearly handmade, not chemical-tasting, and when paired with lemon, it retains the lemon's slight acidity while also managing the sharpness beautifully. No one is overshadowed here; it’s very enjoyable!
However, it is somewhat on the sweeter side (I prefer sweeter foods).
🌻 Fresh Strawberry Yogurt Jelly Chiffon Cake $390
I was shocked when I saw the price; I had never eaten such an expensive cake before. So, I decided to share one with my friend.
I have to say that the chiffon cake truly lives up to its name. When it was served, the cake was really large (almost double the size of the one I had last time at Dansha). The filling was also generous, and just like the sparkling drink, it came with handmade strawberry jam.
The chiffon cake itself is very fluffy. When eating the yogurt jelly alone, the flavor stands out more. The whipped cream is incredibly delicious… sweet without being overly heavy, which I love.
What my friend had:
🌻 Garlic Basil Egg Salad Toast with Fresh Shrimp $180 + $80
He said it was tasty (the person involved: after a long day’s work, it was a comforting meal).
🌻 Little Mountain Garden Matcha Latte $190
Just your regular, pretty good matcha latte; given the price, it seemed better than other places.
