Located in the food court of Taichung Veterans General Hospital, "Hong Tai Thai Creative Canteen" appears to be a restaurant specializing in home-style cooking and simple meals, making it convenient for hospital staff and visiting patients to have a quick meal. However, the pork cutlet curry rice I ordered this time was quite unsatisfactory. The curry sauce was almost as thin as water, lacking the necessary thickness and aroma. It was neither smooth nor flavorful, missing the layered taste that curry should have, resulting in an overall very bland experience.
Although the pork cutlet looked golden on the outside, the meat was quite thin, almost devoid of any juices, making it dry and tough to chew. The portion of vegetables was also extremely minimal, with just a few symbolic pieces that hardly constituted a single bite.
Overall, the dining experience was very disappointing. Considering the standards of a hospital food court, while one cannot expect the restaurant to deliver fine dining, there should at least be a basic level of care and sincerity. The pork cutlet curry rice at Hong Tai Thai Creative Canteen was lacking in taste, texture, and portion size, leaving no lingering enjoyment after the meal. Based on this experience, I probably won't return to try again.
