A spicy hot pot restaurant that maximizes the modern retro Taiwanese style 🕺🏻🍲🏰

Zhan Ji Spicy Hot Pot is one of the most famous and hardest-to-book hot pot restaurants in Taipei! After many years, eating here again still feels great 🤤

The newly opened site at Ximen Grand World is a star gathering point 🎶, and Zhan Ji has transformed it into a space with various Taiwanese flavors.
Before the opening, I saw extensive promotions for this restaurant. Upon entering, I found that the dining area is all located on B1. The entire space is not very large, but the tables are well-spaced apart, providing a comfortable dining experience 🎨

The service is also quite attentive; the staff informs you about each dish as they serve it, and they are considerate about guest dining conditions, such as adding soup or clearing empty plates.

▫️Dual-flavor hot pot base ($500):
Suitable for 4-6 people, we ordered the spicy pot at a mild level. For those who can handle spice, it should be considered mildly spicy, but the aroma of the hot pot is rich without being harsh on the throat.

It includes a fixed amount of duck blood and tofu (remember it was 10 pieces each; we ended up ordering additional half portions (duck blood $110, tofu $70)

Zhan Ji's duck blood is truly unforgettable, with a very tender texture, no gamey taste, and it absorbs the spicy flavor well. The tofu has large holes and absorbs soup very well.

▫️American Angus beef short ribs ($620):
Beautiful marbling, rich in fat, can be cooked in under 10 seconds, very tender, and impressively good quality meat.

▫️Selected Taiwan pork shoulder ($370):
This dish can be ordered at a member discount price of $99. We later ordered two more plates.
The meat quality is also very nice, and you can taste the aroma of the pork.

▫️American beef brisket ($470):
This dish has more marbling than the short ribs!

▫️Taiwanese Matsusaka pork ($390):
Cut into long, thin pieces, it has quite a nice chewiness.

▫️Taiwanese beef balls ($210):
Large and very chewy, when bitten into, there's meat juice inside—a recommendation!

▫️Mushroom and meat dumplings ($160):
Very delicious! These are exceptional egg dumplings with fragrant egg skin and a filling of mushrooms and meat creating a different flavor.
Although now seeing the price of 40 each seems a bit too expensive 🙁

▫️Mystery egg vinegar ($15):
This is a type of dipping sauce that feels like it's just raw egg + vinegar + garlic; we all thought it didn't have much flavor when mixed.

▫️White chrysanthemum and plum juice ($259):
The name is cute, haha 🐶
It's actually white chrysanthemum and black plum juice; the base is black plum juice, and the restaurant prepares a cup with white chrysanthemum and some herbs.

Aside from the difficulty in booking and the relatively high prices for a filling meal, the overall dining experience was wonderful. The atmosphere, ingredients, and service did not disappoint 🤩

The translation of "白菊狗汁" to English is "White Chrysanthemum Dog Juice."

詹記麻辣火鍋是1994年在新莊開業,然而真正讓我們注意到它,是其亮眼的台式復古風格設計,以小攤形式出沒在音樂祭。 這間西門店位於過往「星聚點KTV」舊址地下室,店面佔坪極大,七彩霓虹復古裝潢同樣吸睛。 入餐廳後才知道詹記有 Ocard 會員,當場加入即可以 99 元購買原價 370 元的梅花豬。詹記的肉類品質不差,只是偏貴。 若論餐點,詹記的火鍋料最佳,尤其是自製丸類。芋頭貢丸比例佳,芋頭滋味顯著,干貝三鮮丸內餡含花枝蝦肉,輕輕一咬便嚐鮮味,這種自製丸類不以過量魚漿充數,內餡多保持原始食材口感,在尋常火鍋店少見。 餐後會送上一個糖果包裝的「雪寶」,酸甜複合口感收束這一餐滋味,包裝紙的設計更是一絕。 詹記最特別的是「點歌」服務,可以更改店內播放的音樂!這種台式復古時髦的風格,當然必須點播美秀集團了!

【Foodholic乃子@台北】 過去吃詹記一直都是去敦南店,自從在西門開了新分店之後都還沒有來會會它,想到這個冬天還沒有吃到麻辣鍋,決定來「詹記麻辣火鍋 西門大世界」一探究竟 「詹記麻辣火鍋 西門大世界」位於西門站附近,距離6號出口走路約4分鐘,就在原本星聚點的位置,一推開門就聞到濃濃的麻辣鍋味,通過一個很夜店風的樓梯往地下一樓走,往右看就會看到詹記的路口了,左邊則有一區椅子,可以讓人候位時坐著休息 我們週六下午4:30抵達,店員說前面還有17組,需要等候三個小時以上,會電話通知,網路上也可以看到候位現況,我們就到西門町晃晃,最後接近7點時接到電話,等了2.5小時~ 我們2人用餐點小鍋(1-3人份),鍋費為$380加一成,鍋底已有6塊豆腐、6塊鴨血;另外還有中鍋(4-6人份)及大鍋(7人以上) 鍋底吃不夠的話,可以再另外加點,但小鍋限制只能再加點豆腐和鴨血各一份 使用QRcode點餐,有些肉片和火鍋料可以只點半份,對於想吃多個品項,但人數又不夠多的客人很友善 我們兩人吃九分飽,另外還外帶了一份豆腐和半份鴨血,結帳金額為$1709 鴛鴦鍋的麻辣鍋部分可以選擇辣度,我們選小辣吃起來很剛好,白湯的部分看起來很清淡,但用來煮青菜非常不錯,就算不沾醬,青菜吃起來還是有個鮮甜感,健康又好吃! 我們今天點了高麗菜和水蓮,青菜都處理得很乾凈,菜葉也很新鮮,吃起來脆度都還在 花枝丸和飛魚卵福袋表現中規中矩,花枝丸吃起來有個甜味,福袋裡頭非常紮實,吃完整顆會蠻有飽足感的 梅花豬好吃,肉質不錯,用麻辣鍋煮再沾白醋香油配蔥花吃,相當對味~建議要按照店家推薦的比例去調配 今天的品項唯一不推薦點的是羊肉片,羊騷味非常重,不管沾白醋還是沙茶都壓不住,而且放到白湯主之后,整鍋湯和青菜都有一股羊味,個人非常不喜歡,原本想給4顆星,但因為羊肉片扣了0.5 飯後有免費甜點,是做成糖果形狀的冰淇淋,口味是金萱綠茶,很好吃~ 店員很多,也會注意客人的需求,時常過來幫忙加湯;可以桌邊結帳也很方便

詹記新開的西門店!一秒帶你回到90年代🥳 一進去就很像以前舞廳的入口, 但裡面用餐環境很明亮不會五彩繽紛眼花撩亂。 開放式作為大約都是1-4人座, 裡面也有包廂位子喔! 盤子跟所有的用具都很講究, 細節感滿滿,建議一定要來體驗看看。 以前沒吃過詹記, 所以不知道是不是因為剛開幕, 每片肉都切很大塊,又很厚, 加入會員可以用99元買一大盤(滿滿一盤)梅花豬。 麻辣火鍋湯喝起來不是像四川式的, 偏向台式傳統麻辣, 我很喜歡裡面的鍋底豆腐,很入味也很嫩, 牛肉最喜歡牛小排, 油脂剛好,厚度也夠,口感也很好, 其他肉品就一般般,與價格相符。 甜點是招待的梅子綠茶口味冰淇淋, 用的是以前那種烏梅?酸梅?的傳統包裝, 總之很可愛, 而這個口味是會回甘的, 算有趣的口感。 為了氛圍很推薦可以去搶搶看位子喔!
