"Li Ke Kang Restaurant" is a casual dining restaurant located in the Songshan District, and it has an incredibly good business. We arrived around 4 PM on a Sunday afternoon, planning to have dinner, and it was already packed inside. By around 5 PM, it was completely full, and many customers who came in after us had to wait for a table. (However, you can make a reservation here, so if you really want to dine, it's advisable to call ahead!)
The set meals include one main dish, two side vegetables, a bowl of white rice, a bowl of soup, a drink, and a dessert, with most prices ranging from 200 to 300 TWD. I personally think it’s super value for money to have meat, vegetables, and dessert at this price—awesome!
We ordered the Sichuan-style chopped chili chicken for 260 TWD and the spiced grilled chicken thigh for 240 TWD. I liked both main dishes quite a bit, and the portion sizes were decent. The Sichuan-style chopped chili chicken is a cold dish, somewhat similar to drunken chicken in terms of preparation. It looks quite spicy, but actually, it’s not too hot; the predominant flavor is more of numbness. Even for someone like me who can’t handle much spice, it was acceptable. The spiced grilled chicken thigh had a spice flavor that resembled cumin a bit, and it tasted quite different from regular grilled chicken thighs—also very good with rice.
As for the side dishes, they were more ordinary, resembling the kind of sides you'd typically find in a lunchbox shop, so I wouldn’t particularly recommend them.
The dessert was cold mung bean and job's tears, which I quite liked. It wasn't too sweet, so it felt light when eating.
For drinks, we both chose the kumquat lemon. The taste feels high-quality, not cheap at all, and the sweet and sour flavor is very refreshing—definitely recommended!
