A lively and long-established Japanese BBQ chain restaurant 🥩🍻🔥

It seems like the last time I ate at Kanpai was 10 years ago 😆
This time, it’s a restaurant that my friends from Hong Kong specifically wanted to come to Taiwan for! There’s no Kanpai chain in Hong Kong.

Kanpai is most famous for its 8 PM event time; currently, the event reward includes a free drink, shandy, or beer 🍻

At 8 PM, the staff creates a festive atmosphere. This time, a staff member asked us about the reason for our gathering, and at 8 PM, one of the employees introduced the key figures at our table to all customers. Most of the other tables were there to celebrate birthdays, and we all ended up singing the birthday song together 😂 It was quite special and joyful.

▫️ Australian chilled thick-cut beef tongue ($399):
This was my favorite item this time; the thickness of the Wagyu is substantial, and the texture is such that you can bite through it, yet it has a nice bounce back.

▫️ Fresh-cut Australian Wagyu sirloin steak ($3.33/g):
I ordered this to play the steak guessing game!
If you guess within ±5g of the actual weight, you get it for free! Plus, the staff will cook this piece for us!
In the end, the weight was quite different 😆—it was almost 300g.

▫️ Australian grain-fed brisket, salted ($380)

▫️ Salted scallion sauce belly pork ($330)

▫️ Wagyu small intestines, salted ($180)
Very fatty! It spattered a lot of sparks while grilling ⚡️ The texture is chewy and has a high degree of bounce.

▫️ Anchovy garlic cucumber ($90)

▫️ Kanpai's homemade pickled vegetables ($88)
Very crunchy! The pickling is spot on.
Highly recommend getting this to balance out the richness.

🔸 The service is quite good! The staff introduces the menu, pays attention to how everyone is grilling, and they’re quite thoughtful in changing the grill nets regularly.
