Overall Review: 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑
Dickson's Food Review #209
This time I visited one of the top steak restaurants in Taipei, the long-established ~
I've heard about the premium steak powerhouse, Ruth's Chris 🤤 since I was a child.
Finally, I was lucky enough to get a reservation on a weekday
and went with a few friends under the casual excuse of having dinner.
(They even called Ruth's Chris a casual get-together for office workers? 🤷♂️)
But unexpectedly!!!…. Huge disappointment 😭😭

In terms of food:
Baked potato 👉 is just a potato, nothing special.
Soup 👉 generally tasty but unfortunately unmemorable.
And since Ruth's Chris is a classic steakhouse!
Of course, I had to rate their steak well.
I don't know if it's due to the difference in generations or different concepts of value,
but the steak at Ruth's Chris comes as big chunks of unadorned beef presented before you.
Beef, wow, that’s something!
Just a big piece of meat right in front of you!
They promised good lighting and a great atmosphere, with steaks to spare! And veggies to a minimum!
But it’s just a big beef steak,
with no extra decorations or flashy displays; understated luxury, right?
Regarding the steak, being a classic steakhouse, it obviously has a certain standard.
But from my personal point of view, the value for money is low; it’s hard to justify this price point.
I suddenly remembered a random steakhouse I walked into in El Paso, USA,
the taste was similar, but the much lower price filled me up to the point of nausea!
Should I also try that place in the area like Ruth's Chris? 🤣🤣🤣
However, the dessert part was surprisingly good!
I suspect this is a dessert shop that got sidetracked by steak!
Additionally, if you have a birthday person that month, they give you a complimentary cake!
The complimentary cake was also quite delicious.
Compared to the earlier courses of baked potato and soup,
this is definitely worth trying.
So all things considered,
the dessert completely overshadowed the salad and steak...
And each person is limited to ordering at least one main course,
shattering our dreams of splitting a few main dishes and ordering sides.
As for the atmosphere,
it follows a 90s dim red style with an elegant vibe.
But compared to the current mainstream bright quality or dark atmosphere,
it feels more nostalgic.
This part is subjective; some people might love this slightly retro, vintage style.
The service at a high-end restaurant still meets a certain standard.
Though it’s not overly attentive, they have what’s necessary.
Of course, prices are high.
Unfortunately, the food and overall performance don’t justify the price. Crying~
The location is decent, transportation is relatively convenient,
but being situated above McDonald's seems a bit out of place!?
🤪🤪Dickson’s Rant🤪🤪
The legendary high-end steakhouse,
with good lighting, a great atmosphere, and top-notch food.
It's a great place to take a girl for special occasions and significant days.
Do you really think so???
NO!!! Personally, I think aside from the fame,
I absolutely do not recommend it!!!! 🫠🫠🫠
Overrated, overrated, overrated, overrated.
This is so important that I'll say it three times.
Oh wait, I said it four times.
The friends who went with me that day, four people, unanimously agreed: overrated!!!
With so many high-end steakhouses,
with better lighting and atmosphere, some even in the 101 skyscraper,
why wouldn’t we choose something tastier, with better views,
and more conveniently located for the same price?!
Thus, since I don’t recommend bringing a girl here,
there’s no consistent dating strategy anymore!!!
👩: Let’s go eat at Ruth's Chris~~ I’ve never been there before!
🙎🏻♂️: No need, let’s go eat at St. X or Teach Z, that’s fine~ Ruth's Chris is off the list!
I'll only take you to good food, not just for the name.
👩: Wow, you’re so thoughtful! You’re truly a real man, only thinking of me. ❤️❤️❤️
Look, with just a few words paired with this food review,
for no cost, you can score big points in a girl’s heart! 👍👍👍
