In the Yongda Night Market, there is a small stall called "Xinji Handmade Pan Fried Dumplings," which can be considered the kind that you wouldn't pay special attention to, but might buy a bite to eat if you walk by. It is said to be a chain brand; however, there weren't any signs on site specifically indicating this, nor any signage showing other branch locations. After looking it up online, it seems this brand is more prominent in night markets in the central and northern regions, with some branches even having their own fan pages, but the stall here at Yongda feels quite low-key.
The pan-fried dumplings taste quite standard; the skin is cooked decently and has a bit of crispiness, but the filling's flavor lacks any memorable points; it's the type that isn't bad but also isn't impressive. The amount of filling is just right, not empty, but the seasoning is on the mild side. Perhaps due to the lack of highlights, my impression of the taste is a bit hazy, and I can't even recall more details when I think back on it.
However, if you're in a good mood that day and happen to be a little hungry, buying some as a late-night snack to settle your stomach shouldn't disappoint you. This stall belongs to the type that you wouldn't specifically recommend, but it's also fine for casual eating.
