📍Location: Taichung, North District
Brief Review: A great place for chatting and dining, and a nice spot for late-night drinks.

Initially, our family didn't care much for drinking, so izakayas 🏮 held no appeal for us. However, the food was so delicious that after our first visit, it became one of our favorite spots.

We ordered some grilled items, and since we weren't pairing them with drinks or alcohol, we ordered a few rice dishes to enjoy alongside.
The grilled items are categorized as regular or a bit drier; this time we chose the regular ones, so they weren't too dry or tough.

Here’s what we ordered:

Grilled tofu skin (highly recommended and a must-order)
Grilled sun-dried fish
Grilled squid
Stir-fried water lily
Stir-fried asparagus
Loofah with clams
Salmon floss fried rice
Grilled short ribs

We redeemed the grilled short ribs through a promotion. As we had eaten some snacks in the afternoon, we weren't very hungry during dinner.
Therefore, we ordered fewer dishes than usual, resulting in a slightly lower average dining price than the actual average.
If someone comes here on an empty stomach for all-you-can-eat, not including drinks, I estimate it would be around $500 per person. If you want to add some sashimi or drinks, the budget may need to increase.

Grilled Tofu Skin This is a must-order item every time we come here. The tofu skin is grilled perfectly, crispy on the outside, and paired with the sauce of the grilled dishes, it really makes you want to order another plate. 😋

Stir-fried asparagus It is quite similar to asparagus at regular stir-fry restaurants; the asparagus is very juicy. The portion is not large, it’s average.

Loofah and clams These are also common dishes in hot stir-fry restaurants. I think it’s worth recommending for dining together because: even though it’s an izakaya, the cooked dishes are also impressive. The loofah is crunchy and juicy, and the clams are very fresh and sweet.

Stir-fried water lily The portion is actually quite ample, but it looks a bit small on the plate. This is also a classic stir-fry style commonly found at hot stir-fry restaurants, enhanced with nuts and shredded ginger, giving it a unique flavor.

Grilled squid I think the seafood at this restaurant is a must-order; you can’t go wrong with any seafood, but at least order one dish to try. The squid is tender and just right—it's not too tough to chew, nor too soft without texture, and the pepper flavor is just perfect!

Grilled Overnight Fish Although it's called "overnight dried fish," what we ordered was grilled to a "regular" level, so it resembles grilled fish rather than dried fish.

Salmon Floss Fried Rice Although other fried rice dishes on the menu may be more recommended, if you're just looking for a light rice dish, I think this fried rice is just right👌 Of course, I suspect the other fried rice options would be even more delicious (but also more expensive).

Grilled Short Ribs Perhaps expectations were too high, which led to greater disappointment with this dish. The short ribs are grilled fresh, so the service speed is quite slow (it takes time to cook them properly). The level of slowness is such that we had finished all the previous dishes before the short ribs even arrived. (They really take a long time to cook.) Because of this, if any guests want to order the grilled short ribs, they will usually place the order in advance to avoid finishing all the other dishes and still waiting for the short ribs to arrive (but we might eat too quickly, so we still end up finishing everything before the short ribs come).

The restaurant has a physical menu, but ordering is done by scanning a code.

The number of tables in the store is quite a lot, but there are not many staff members. However, their actions are very swift and the service is excellent. It is the staff's good service and the delicious dishes that made us fond of this restaurant and come to visit frequently.
