Near the Taoyuan Art and Culture District, there is an izakaya
with delicious food and many unique dishes,
like moon-viewing chicken sashimi.
They even broadcast sports events, which has made it one of my top recommended restaurants.

After all, it's an izakaya, and it's hard to say you’ve been if you don’t order at least seven or eight items.
Let’s choose three must-try dishes to write about!

👉 Moon-viewing Chicken Sashimi
That’s right, raw chicken!

Raw!

Chicken often carries salmonella, and generally speaking, it is considered inedible.
However, the rearing, production processes, and temperatures of the Kai Ding chicken are extremely stringent, allowing it to be safe for raw consumption.

Mix the tender Kai Ding chicken with egg yolk
It tastes smooth and tender, with a very unique texture.
The freshness of the chicken, the richness of the egg, and the spiciness of the onion pair together wonderfully. This has been a dish we’ve ordered almost every time we visit Mr. Q over the past two years, which has been nearly ten visits.

A little reminder: If you’re wary of raw meat, there's no need to force yourself to try it; raw chicken has a relatively small audience and may not suit those who aren’t accustomed to it.
But if you’re willing to try, I think it would be an amazing experience.

👉 Squid Sausage
The texture is different from regular sausages;
it's chewy but not too tough and easy to bite.
It also has a unique aroma, which we really enjoy.

Most importantly, please make sure to eat it with the garlic slices on the plate.
Although the way of eating is similar to ordinary sausages, the enhancement it offers far surpasses that of regular sausages and it’s definitely a perfect dish to pair with drinks.

👉 Pork Belly Garlic Roll
This is a must-order item for us every time.
Recommended consumption time: within 30 seconds of serving.
Bite into it while the garlic is still hot; the aroma of the pork and the intense garlic flavor quickly spread in your mouth.
If you love garlic, this dish is absolutely a must-order.

It’s worth noting that the texture of each garlic clove varies.
Some can be crunchy, while others are soft and easily squished, so every time you eat it, it’s a little different. I prefer the latter.

The interior of Suzuyoshi exuded a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Worn wooden beams and vintage lanterns lent an air of rustic authenticity, while the polished bar and sleek furnishings added a contemporary sophistication. We settled into our cozy corner table, eager to embark on a culinary journey. The menu at Suzuyoshi was a symphony of tantalizing small plates and expertly crafted libations. We began our feast with a selection of scrumptious canapés - the stewed snacks were bursting with umami flavors, each bite a delightful balance of tenderness and texture. Known the restaurant back when it opened a couple of years ago. Used to be a nice chill place for drinking but once it became viral, its always super packed. We walked in for an early dinner and since it was just the 2 of us, they were able to accommodate us. The other tables had reservations on them. You order through the tablet, hence i am unable to upload the menu. It has a wide variety of food, from ramen to skewers; along with japanese beer and alcohol. I had a bad experience with the server regarding the beer promotion (need to say the key phrase to get a discount). I ordered in the ipad and called the server over to get the offer. Unfortunately the server said i need to call him over and he will key in the system. This doesn't make sense for me as the drink is already listed as a option in the system, and you usually wont need to interact with the server 🤷‍♂️. I was quite unhappy with the response and cancelled the drinks order. And that interaction ruined my night. Personally for me, i felt the quality of food went down after it became popular. And today was no different. The Seafood tempura, garlic fried rice looked ok but didnt have any taste to them. The tanzen clams, my wife liked them but i didn't. One of my clams had some sand in them and overall didn't have much taste. The pork belly skewers and gyoza were ok, nothing special about them. Price wise, things were quite expensive and not worth it in my opinion. Personally, I wont come here unless its to drink japanese beer/alcohol or i am invited here for functions. Do note that its still popular so maybe its just not right for me. Do give it a try and form your own opinion
