I haven't had sauerkraut hotpot for a long time, so this time I chose a location that a friend had visited and recommended. Below are the meals from that day.

▪️Duo meal set $899
· Yin Yang broth - original sauerkraut broth + green Sichuan pepper
· Lactic acid bacteria sauerkraut· Cold vermicelli· Scallion pancake
· Crispy pork belly (2 portions)
· Assorted mushrooms platter· Seasonal vegetables· Cabbage

▪️Taro dumplings with fresh meat $60

Initially, we were served cold vermicelli and scallion pancakes. The scallion pancakes were quite delicious and fragrant, but I realized once I tasted them that I’m not that good at handling sour flavors; the sauerkraut dishes were a bit too sour for me, although I gradually got used to it as we continued eating.

In terms of the meal set, it felt quite economical since there was no charge for the broth, and there were two large plates of meat, which went well with the broth. The vegetables included cabbage and another green vegetable, but oddly enough, there were a lot of mushrooms served. Compared to the sauerkraut broth, I preferred the green Sichuan pepper broth, which was tasty without being too spicy or numbing, just fragrant. The sesame sauce for dipping was also good, while the drinks, roasted tea, and winter melon lemonade were quite ordinary. Besides the set, we also ordered egg dumplings and taro dumplings with fresh meat; you could definitely tell the fresh meat dumplings were quite tasty, while the egg dumplings were average.

Overall, the meat with the sauerkraut hotpot was nice, and ordering the meal set was more cost-effective. The variety of mushrooms was abundant, and I loved the green Sichuan pepper broth. I haven’t had sauerkraut hotpot in a long time, and I feel I can handle sour flavors better than before, but I still don't love it that much. This is just a reference based on personal taste.
