The Ganwu Dessert Shop at Carrefour Guilin is one of my favorite dessert and drink places, located on the first floor of Carrefour Guilin. The exterior of the shop is filled with a refreshing Japanese style, and the blue color scheme makes it very relaxing.
Today, I enjoyed the Starry Sky Grass Jelly Tea, priced at 75 NT dollars.
Starry Sky Grass Jelly Tea:
Although I couldn't take a photo of the inside of the cup, this grass jelly tea is really impressive. It uses grass jelly from Guanxi, Hsinchu, which is already famous, so I won’t go into detail about that. The toppings of honey pearls, colorful balls, and small taro balls also have a great texture. The richness of the toppings makes it sweet enough that it tastes great without sugar.
Previously, there was also peach blossom jelly as a topping, but unfortunately, it has been out of stock for some time. Peach blossom jelly is made by extracting from the bark of peach trees and simmering it with white fungus, resulting in a texture that is a holy grail for jelly lovers. I was hooked after trying it just once.
Overall, it’s a dessert drink shop with a very rich selection of Japanese-style items. Although I haven't tried their ice treats in the dining area, it should also be a nice experience. After enjoying the delicious food, strolling around the Decathlon on the first floor or Carrefour upstairs would make for a perfect afternoon.
I recommend it to everyone!
