Overall Review: 🌕🌕🌕🌘🌑
Dixon's Fooday Commentary #193
This time I'm reviewing one of the very well-known steakhouses in Taipei, which is also the top choice for high-priced, high-quality, and high-atmosphere dining in Taipei. Many people choose to celebrate important holidays and occasions here.
Robbins Steakhouse is located inside the Regent Hotel, which itself houses many other high-end restaurants. Robbins is one of them!
The restaurant is on the second floor of the Regent Hotel. Just walk into the hotel and take the escalator up, and you'll quickly find the steakhouse.
The appearance of the steakhouse is quite luxurious, and overall it feels very grand and splendid. Even at noon before opening hours, you can see many guests lining up for reservations outside.
However, it's important to note that for steakhouses like this one, the lunch and dinner menus are usually different, and the price points vary as well. If you are someone who is good at budgeting, I would suggest coming for lunch. Because essentially, the main courses and other items are quite similar, you can enjoy the same food for about 3,500 NT dollars less!
Of course, the atmosphere during the day and at night is definitely different. 🤣🤣🤣 But in terms of food, I personally feel that there's not much of a difference.
Now, regarding the menu at this restaurant, it features a variety of steak options available like other typical steakhouses, and there are seafood and lobster combinations as well. As a steak lover who must have ribeye and lobster, I definitely wanted both!
So, how does a famous and seemingly high-end steakhouse taste? Does it only look good but taste mediocre?
In my personal summary, I feel that Taiwan's steak is still quite inferior compared to American steak.
Although Robbins' steak is not bad, I still think there is a gap between expectations and the actual tasting experience. 🤪

⭐️ Food Section
As mentioned earlier, on that day I ordered:
👉 US Prime Ribeye with Lobster 6oz, NT $4,100
This included a set menu with soup and salad, etc.
For my soup, I chose:
👉 Lobster bisque
I found the lobster bisque to be above average, but nothing particularly special. The flavor was fairly rich, but it’s something you can find elsewhere.
The salad area is quite large and offers unlimited servings. This part has high cost-performance value because there are many types of vegetable salads to choose from.
Even if you order the cheapest main course, you can still enjoy the salad bar infinitely. Besides vegetables and fruit salads, there’s also a dessert area, so if your main course is small and you're worried about not filling up, you can supplement with the salad bar. The ingredients here are fresh, and the flavors are quite good—perhaps the best part of this entire steakhouse (surprisingly, it’s the salad bar! 🤣🤣).
As for the steak, I personally prefer it more rare, so I always order the ribeye medium-rare. I find the steak here to be just ordinary—it doesn’t have anything particularly memorable or impressive.
Moreover, the steak is only six ounces, so it's not very filling, and the taste is just okay. Therefore, my overall rating for the steak at this restaurant is average.
Aside from the steak, there’s also the lobster, which was a bit larger than I expected, but the flavor was also quite basic—just your typical lobster taste. The freshness was acceptable, and since it wasn't overly processed, you do need some effort to extract the meat.
Overall, I felt that the main course was just mediocre, leaving me a bit disappointed in Taiwan's high-end steakhouses. 🤣🤣🤣
As mentioned earlier, after finishing your meal, you can continue enjoying desserts at the salad bar, which I found to be quite good.
There is a wide variety of desserts at the salad bar, and you can grab a small piece of each to try. Maybe this place is actually a salad bar that happens to serve steak?!
⭐️ Beverage Section
The menu also has a selection of wines and non-alcoholic soft drinks for customers to choose from. On that day, I also tried some lower-alcohol drinks, and the taste was quite pleasant!
⭐️ Atmosphere Section
I must say, the atmosphere at this steakhouse is very good. Although it doesn’t benefit from an outside view, it offers a rather pleasant dining experience indoors.
Since I dined with many friends that day, we had a private room reserved, which was quite nice. The quality of the private room is excellent, and the environment is very quiet—unlike the noise from neighboring tables that can be quite disruptive. It’s suitable for family gatherings or dining with a group of friends.
The interior decor conveys a sense of elegance and nobility, giving you the feeling of slowly enjoying exquisite food in a high-end restaurant.
The two-person or four-person square tables outside are spacious, making it also very suitable for dates or important celebrations.
So, I found the atmosphere to be quite nice!
⭐️ Service Section
Since you’re at a high-end steakhouse, the service is certainly above average. The staff carefully introduce the menu items and assist you with ordering. When the food arrives, they also explain how to enjoy it, etc.
⭐️ Price Section
Considering my meal experience with the main course was just okay, I feel that the price is a bit on the expensive side.
However, most high-end steakhouses in Taipei are in this price range, and so far, none have left me greatly satisfied. 🤣🤣
⭐️ Location Section
Since it is located inside the Regent Hotel, you can easily find this upscale steakhouse once you arrive at the hotel. The transportation around the hotel is very convenient, whether you’re driving or using public transportation, it’s not a big issue. Additionally, it’s near Linsen North Road and Zhongshan District, so it’s great for those who want to stroll around or shop nearby!
⭐️ In summary
Robbins Steakhouse is one of Taipei's famous high-end steakhouses. If you love various steak experiences, you shouldn't miss this well-known restaurant in Taipei.
You can also come and experience the high-end steak and the unique salad bar here!
I think at least it's worth visiting once! Interested friends should quickly start making online reservations!
🤪 Dixon's Rant Zone 🤪
Whenever special holidays come around, do you worry about where to take your date for dinner?
I think this restaurant is quite suitable if you're out of ideas and can be used as a safe option.
Booking isn’t particularly difficult here, so if you want to come spontaneously and it’s not a fully booked special holiday, it should be fine.
Of course, there will be a pleasant atmosphere here, because after all, women enjoy the ambiance!
But creating that atmosphere definitely depends on your wallet! 🤣🤣🤣
After all, on special occasions, arriving at a beautifully lit and pleasant restaurant adds points to the experience.
At such moments, happily eating steak together can surely deepen your relationship! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
