Ultra-affordable grilled meat lunch sets! You can enjoy Wagyu for under 2000 yen, and the side dishes and rice are extremely generous!
This grill restaurant, located near the exit of Sangenjaya Station, is in the basement and has often been recommended online for lunch. I've frequently seen people lining up during lunchtime, but they only allow consumption for groups of two or more. Finally, I had the chance to visit with a colleague!
Upon entering the restaurant, I was unexpectedly struck by how quiet it was. It didn't have the bustling feel typical of most grill places. Although there were other customers, everyone spoke softly and enjoyed their grilled meat quietly. 😂
When I opened the menu, I discovered that the lunch sets were incredibly cheap, which explained the need to line up. Many sets were priced below 2000 yen, and some even offered options for Wagyu and beef tongue!
We ordered:
C. Green onion and salt beef tongue + diaphragm set meal
E. Black-haired Wagyu set meal
Although the meat portion was about five slices, the rice was served in a large bowl and was delicious. There were also plenty of side dishes, and the soup had a big clam in it—overall, it felt healthy and balanced without being heavy!
During dinner time, I noticed that the set meals were around 5000 yen, which had more of an à la carte feel in terms of pricing. However, lunch is just too much of a bargain, and I highly recommend it!
When settling the bill, I also saw that there were several other branches, as well as a specialty hamburger steak shop, all along the Den-en-toshi Line. The hamburger steak even has a ready-to-cook package available, and I'd love to try it if I get the chance!
